Please check: www.victrack.ca and click on Dogwood Meet (in Victoria at UVIC stadium) on the left.  The info about the meet is all there, including the meet schedule.  The fees for most of our club athletes is $6 per event, and this is not covered by your club registration fee.  The registration deadline is Friday, May 2, the day before our meet here.  Please read about the meet, ask others about it who have been before, and if you are interested in going to this meet, please sign up in the track room by Thursday, MAY 1.  You will need to know exactly which events your son/daughter want to compete in, and if you have their PB in that event, include that when you sign up.  If you don’t know it, or they have not competed before, then just leave that column blank.  I will also put a copy of the Dogwood meet info and schedule up in our track room for you to check when signing up.  Check the schedule to try to avoid conflicts in their events.  This is not a sticker meet, so is run a bit differently in that all event lists of competitors are printed up ahead of time.  It tends to be a bit larger than other island meets, and the first three places get medals, which the younger kids really like.
 
As well, the organizers for the Peninsula meet are wondering about re-scheduling the events that were missed due to the snow, on Sat. May 24This is the day before their Pentathon (sprint hurdles, 800m, long jump, high jump, shot put) and Throws Pentathlon (shotput, discus, javelin, hammer and weight throw).  They would like a preliminary indication how many think that they would be interested in coming down there for Saturday May 24 for the events that they cancelled last weekend.  If you think that you would want to do that, please email me asap. (smacauley@telus.net ) Thanks.  If you don’t know at this time, don’t worry about it!
