It’s Nice to Be Nice – and since today is a Blog Action Day for People to People Aid; We’re donating our vibes and time to one of our favorite new causes – a group of women in Uganda; organized by our cyberfriend Christina.

We spend all day clicking, so why not make it worth something this time ?

Blogging is all about a reason, and for us – it’s YOU. we know you don’t just come here day after day to see the template; so we feel responsible to our blogging planet and citizenry. we always want to contribute socially, morally and hopefully with reality as our chief component. today we honor a very strong and important cause, and woman.

we think Christina stole our hearts when we first began reading her blog several months ago. she talks about the way it is in Uganda and how that relates to life in the US. things really seemed to mean female flexibility is king.

She’s a US Citizen Activist, who chose to Go To Africa to Help Others. That is something, Reallllly Something. she blogs daily about the life she leads now, and her goals for the people she’s working with. she’s a crown jewel. this girl is the type you take home to mama. she has all the best of everything going for her, and she shares it to help others; which is why we believe so wholeheartedly in her cause celeb, Ugandan Families.

You Go Christina !

christina at work in ugandawe admire and are inspired by your efforts. you are doing what so many of us should. you are putting your action into reality. so because we support you, we want to tell everybody about the marvelous contest going on at Party@Christinaswwworld.

Here’s What Christina’s Challenge Says :

I’m challenging you to a creative blog contest that helps me get the word out, by writing a post on your blog that encourages your readers to sign up for iGive to support Life in Africa through their holiday shopping and/or searching online for the rest of this year.

Christina's Jungle Beads - made by a womens' coop in Uganda These beautiful beads are a terrific prize, in addition to the other nice entrecard credits, and stuff. if you’d like to see the whole list, click here.

Please give Christina Your Support, and Tell Your Readers all about a worthy cause to support Families in Uganda.

Here’s the Rundown from Christina’s Site on How it works:

How to participate

1. use this link to sign up for iGive to support Life in Africa (you can sign up to search and refer others even if you can’t shop online or don’t plan to shop right now)

2. make a creative post on your blog that tells the women’s story in a way that moves, encourages or offers an incentive for your readers to support Life in Africa’s school fees 2008 campaign through the iGive shopping or search service or both (feel free to use your own iGive referral link to keep track of your results if you’d like. Just make sure the cause you specify is Life in Africa.)

3. In addition to the iGive sign up link, include the following in your post:

4. Post the link to your completed submission in a comment to this post by no later than November 12, 2008. (This is a do-follow blog by the way, so your link in a comment here will be counted by the search engines).

5. Sign up for a free account at the Ned.com community and wait for November 13 to vote in the online poll.

here’s a lil history to help convince you to support this cause:

(From Christina’s blog)

As you can see in the video, these families really really need some additional stability and opportunity in their lives. After months of consensus building, the adults who are members of Life in Africa (mostly women) have all agreed that getting help to educate the children in their care is the number one most urgent need that they all face. Please help me to help them. With your help I am hopeful we can make a meaningful impact on at least some of their situations.

Thank you very much in advance on behalf of Life in Africa members in Kampala’s Acholi Quarter for participating in this chALLEnGe. Here’s to bloggers like me and YOU making good things happen in their world!

(end of christina’s statement)

Please Fam, Click Here to Sign Up for IGive.  we’d appreciate it if you’d use our IGive Search Engine on the side panel when you search our site; and when you’re doing your holiday shopping.  this is direct People to People Aid; it benefits our cause of the year. This a free way to help families a continent away, who’s lives are so intertwined with ours.

Remember that it takes a village to raise a child, and we are all a part of this global village. Reach Out, won’t you please

Bless YOU All Today,

~RE
