URLTestr – AIR Application for MAX 2008 Presentation

As promised, here is a preview of the application that will be the basis of my presentation at Adobe MAX 2008 presentation in San Francisco Tuesday November 18 at 1:30pm.
What is URLTestr? It is an AIR application that will monitor websites and trigger alerts when it detects that a URL is offline.
Simply install, add some URL’s to monitor and explore the rest of the app. The final version may include a few additional features that are currently under development. Can you say, email or text message alerts?

I found this small app really handy.
But I wanted to learn more about on refresh rates and so. You’re planning a more descripted update? :p

You mean the rate in which it checks for status? This will certainly be covered in the MAX session.

Yep that rate. Unfortunately I can’t make to SF.
Quick remark: I don’t know what your service tests maybe it’s something that parse the http://json-head.appspot.com/ results.
Anyway, I’m facing an uri that does not return any result.
In FF all I get is a Network Timeout error (The server at http://www.coliposte.net is taking too long to respond.) The json-head returns a {”ok”: false, “error”: “ApplicationError: 3 “}.
Kinda strange

Very interesting I don’t know why http://json-head.appspot.com/ is returning a false positive. I will look into this next week as I am off for a short vacation.
