Angel and their wings
On the gnwda.org list, we were looking at logos and that started a discussion on what angels have wings and what they do.
This is a good place to continue it. I put a table of angels up at: http://jpc-design.com/angels.html

So most angels, in the Bible, don’t have wings!

So, where do all those pictures, etc. of angels with wings come from?
My best guess is that they come from the same place all the pictures of Jesus come from. The mind of 2nd century onward artists. If angles can fly, which they can, then they must have wings. Right?
I don’t think so because the Bible does not say anything about angels having wings.

Yes they do have wings !! Some do and some don’t have them, like
somebody else mentioned. God has created many “unseen”
spiritual beings called “angels” and call me a nut but I’ve seen
some in my life and I know others who have as well, and I’m
certain there are plenty in this group who’ve probably seen
angels and might not mention it because it’s a private type of
thing for many people and such a personal and sacred kind of experience.
Angels are always there helping each one of us at all times and
we don’t know it most of the time. They’ve saved most of our lives when
we never even knew any grave danger existed. They’re assigned to do
this for us and more! and the Bible does talk about them.
I’ve taken courses on Angels and have studied books and listened to many people’s angel experiences on VHS tapes that have Angel testimonies for quite a few years now, this is a topic that is something I really enjoy and I believe that Angels inspire most people to know God or to want to know Him better. They’re wonderful!!

Karen, I agree very much that there are angels and that there are other created spiritual beings (cherubims and seraphims who have wings) are two such creations. But, angels do not have wings according to the Bible.
