mDakia going mobile

Well..One more baby step towards revolutionizing mobile web. The mobile portal aims at hosting applications, which, would encourage users in using GPRS services. Although, we have made attempts, in past, to spread awareness but the need of a useful application was felt since long.

mobile STD code
: This was a long pending request from few of our users, especially when we shared the database of the code some time back. The application, though crude as of now, can be accessed both from desktop/laptop and mobile phone. So now, to find the details of any mobile number, all you need to do is punch first 4 digits of same. Don’t believe me, try it here :P

Since we are expecting an overwhelming response this side, we thought of making a life bit easier for you guys. Now, express your views on the move, try accessing mPatra via your GPRS enabled mobile phone!!

Crossing boundaries, conquering nations

Not many months ago, I wrote a blog named Vital Stats. The post talked primarily about reach and traffic source for mDakia.com. Today while analyzing the trend I noticed few things, which I believe are worth sharing with the readers.

mDakia has crossed all the boundaries and is now making its presence felt in all the continents except Antartica :P

We have conquered 30 countries. The count for same was 14 in May 2008.

Login mDakia to earn …

Well that’s right!!

Now every time you login on to mDakia.com, the credit count increases by one.

Does that mean your credits can zoom to 100 million ? The answer, surprisingly, is YES. The only catch here is that it will take 500 million days to do that :P. To put it simply, maximum number of credits that can be earned in one day is 5 but at the same time this process can be repeated for another zillion years ;)

The icing on the cake is that this is not the only way of becoming rich( of course in terms of credits). The other ways, although less popular, are described below.

# Referring friends Refer a friend using our referral utility

# Promotional code For this all you need to do is wait for a surprise SMS containing promotional code. The promotional code can be punched in homepage to get the quantum jump !!

Guess who is missing you ?

mDakia.com as you might know is research oriented firm. The idea is to do statistical analysis on mobile usage of Indians. Now that we have sufficient subscribers ( read data), time has come to find some pattern, correlation & trend. But why am I saying this to you ? Are you really interested in it ? Answers to both these questions might be big NO (read probability tending to 1 :P)

Hang on, I have something which you might find intriguing. Whenever, we get a missed call or SMS from unknown number, the first question that most of us ask is…. Yeh kahan ka code hai ? Well I have compiled the list of mobile codes of India, which, would certainly answer the big question

Mobile codes

In case you are thinking that this guy has got real pathetic sense of color combination, try correlating it with logo of your favorite service provider ;)

Cellular operators

The following table is for people who are NOT intelligent enough to make out what “MP” or “AP” stands for :P

Circles

Readers, I understand this is not the best way of representing the information. I am in process of simple AJAX code, which , will replace this post. Also, setting up a database would help in updating the information and doing “Statistical Analysis”

Well, this can be easily understood with the help following pointers

1) Innovative Product: Since inception, we claimed mCard to be a innovative product. Now, we have a proof for same!!

Happy Fathers’ Day

Fathers’ Day

Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Craik

These four line manages to describe my relationship with dad, partially. Honestly it’s impossible to describe THE relationship in words. This Fathers’ day make your dad feel special by sending him personalized mCard(s). mDakia.com brings you host of expressive mCards for the occasion, choose the one that best portrays your relationship with dad.

Why mDakia.com ?

“Why mDakia.com ? Didn’t you get any other domain name ? ” This is the question which I am made to answer every time I tell my friends about mDakia.com. Today when number of page hits has crossed five digits and user count is all set to breach the thousand mark, its virtually impossible for me to answer the big question. Hence this blog.

This Dakia, like any other postman is designed to deliver (read spread) message ( Oh please I am not referring to SMS :D). In fact the message is pertaining to GPRS and the power lying in it. I and founders of mDakia.com strongly believe that mobile web is being underutilized in India and mCard is our first foot forward towards revolutionizing mobile web.

mCard, as most of you might NOT know, is mobile counterpart of e-card. And mDakia.com allows you to send personalized mCards to any GPRS-enabled mobile phone in India and that too free of cost!! Excited or confused ? In either of cases I would suggest you to give it a shot

Just in case you are still wondering why “m” is lingering around each word, its for mobile :-)

Yours sincerely,
Sumit Ramani,
Consultant-mDakia.com
