My product reviews on Amazon
Weeks and weeks after throwing away the boxes that my stuff arrived in, I got the email from amazon asking me to review my recently purchased crap. So I just got done reviewing a couple of things I bought; a cpu heatsink, ethernet over power (a.k.a. powerline) adapters, and a saitek backlit keyboard on amazon. The email asked me to write a review of x, y, and z. But then after my first review I noticed it was listing other crap that I didn’t even buy. That just made me think about all those corporate minions or just individual idiots or perhaps a mixture of both that write phony reviews. I tried to pretty much tell it like it is. But who really even cares right? I could have talked about banana’s and oreo milk shakes for all anyone really cares about product reviews. If I said something nice, most people will just write it off as propaganda. But then again, there are those people that are swayed by these seemingly kind hearted reviewers. Then there’s the issue of the reviewers expertise. I mean, do most of these writers even have half a clue about what they’re saying? I mean so what it worked for them, or didn’t. Do they even know what they’re talking about? Do I? Who knows… However, If you were on-the-fence about a purchase and all the reviews right in front of your face were carrying on - at length - to the tune of how great their experience was and how they’re so glad they picked this item over such and such, it would probably have an effect of something in the range of zero to some positive impact on your purchasing choice.
