Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008Sex And The City Movie - Big, Bold & Gold
Friday, May 30th, 2008Spoiler Alert - If you haven’t seem the movie yet…you may not want to read any futher…although I promise to try and keep any spoiler to a minimum.
Yes, I was there. One of the hordes of women sprinkled with a few men, who showed up for the very first showing of the SATC movie. The first time available was 10:15 and there I was waiting patiently in line to buy my ticket at 10:00 am sharp.
By 10:10 I was in the very packed theater (Friday at 10:00 am and the theater is packed? Can you only imagine as the day goes on what the crowds will be like?) waiting patiently for sooooooo many previews to finish playing.

My Secret Addiction - The Bachelorette
Tuesday, May 20th, 2008
Yeah, I know it’s definitely dorky of me, but when its comes to Reality TV, I usually watch specific shows to check out the hairstyles, fashions and overall beauty trends. The Hills is an important reality TV show to plug into.
Even the Editor In Chief (EIC) of US Magazine commented on the fashion trend significance of the Hills character.
Why? Not only are the four female stars considered to be style and trend setting icons (whether you like it or not), they speak for their generation.
I would love to be able to have the time to watch several other reality shows but my schedule just doesn’t really me afford me the luxury of watching Dancing With The Stars, Survivor or American Idol.
With those shows, I lurk on the fringe to try and figure out any hair, fashion or beauty trends of note. All of the shows do have hair news that should be covered and I do my best.

DeAnna Pappas - Newest Bachelorette
Tuesday, May 20th, 2008
Millions of viewers watched DeAnna Pappas, 26, suffer through a painful, last-minute rejection by Brad Womack on the last season of ABC’s “The Bachelor” - earning her the sympathy of women everywhere.
Now DeAnna will have the last laugh, as the tables are turned and she gets to choose from among 25 bachelors in her own bid for true love, when the fourth edition of “The Bachelorette” airs on ABC, starting May 19.

The brunette, brown-eyed real estate agent from Newnan, Georgia, became an immediate fan favorite and was the final woman remaining on the finale of “The Bachelor” last November. The ending proved to be a huge shocker, though, when Womack didn’t select any woman - a first in “Bachelor” history. She found out she was tapped to star as the next “Bachelorette” on an episode of “Ellen” that aired in January of this year.

Ashlee Simpson Blue Hair?
Wednesday, April 16th, 2008
Life & Style Magazine - April 14th issue - interviewed Ashlee Simpson about her new album - Bittersweet World - told the weekly magazine “I never thought my life would end up taking the turn that it has. I always saw myself with blue hair in a band. So it’s great to be in the place that I am right now. Either way, I’ll be happy. I’ll probably still have blue hair one day.”
(Image of Ashlee Simpson - DailyCeleb.com - all rights reserved - 2008).
I for one have no doubt that will happen since the singer, actress and newly crowned t-shirt designer for wet seal has morphed from platinum blonde to deep burgandy red with a few stops in the chocolate, black and strawberry shades along the way. Going blue with her hair? Why not?
Ash is not only in the news for her new CD and T-shirt line, she is also fighting rumors that she and long term beau Pete Wentz are pregnant. The very private Ash doesn’t want to talk about it although she is willing to talk about her recent engagement to the Fall Out Boy band member which they announced on the Web.
Will Ashlee have blue hair for her nuptials to Pete? Unlikely.

Lauren Conrad’s Shorter Hairstyle On The Hills - Girls Night Out Episode
Tuesday, April 15th, 2008On the most recent episode of MTV’s sizzling hot The Hills (Girls Night Out - 4/14/08,) Lauren Conrad (aka L.C.) showed up at People’s Revolution in LA with shorter hair and a hot hairline slanted braid.
L.C. had previously agreed to help her BFF Whitney with LA Fashion Week and looked very stylish even though she was dressed to work hard signing and lining up models for the show.
Of course Lauren looked very cute and stylish with her shorter bob inspired layered hairdo. As you would expect, the reality TV superstar completely changed up her new haircut with her front line braid, shattered ends and a “mini” hair bump for a softer look.

When created too tightly, hairline braids can look severe or harsh. Lauren’s braid which runs from side to side rather than from front to back is what is known as an “invisible” or “underhanded braid”.

Whitney Port’s Headband - Girls Night Out Episode - The Hills
Tuesday, April 15th, 2008
Besides being tall, slender, blonde and incredibly beautiful, Whitney Port on The Hills wears incredible hair accessory trends. Throughout her time with Lauren and the gang, Whitney has worn her hair in a dizzying array of stunning hairstyles adorned with a wide range of eye popping headbands, clips and related hair accessories.
On the most recent episode shown on Monday, 4/14/08, Whitney wore a skinny white headband studded with tiny Swarovski gems, most likely from Celebrity Stylist Lisa Freede.
The headband has a chic shimmer that is not overpowering and works beautifully to hold Whitney’s hair back off her face while adding that something special.
Note: The Lisa Freede Headband like Whitney’s (in all colors from white to chocolate) is available in the HairBoutique.com Marketplace.
It would not be surprising to discover Whitney is wearing a Lisa Freede design since her friends - The Hilton Sisters - often wear the Lisa Freede hair accessories designs.

LeAnn Rimes’ Hairstyle
Monday, April 14th, 2008
LeAnn Rimes became a country singing sensation at the very young age of 15. From the beginning of her career LeAnn was taken under the wings of a fashion stylist who helped her hone her true fashion sense. Over the years since she was discovered, LeAnn has become a celebrity fashion plate.
(Image of LeAnn Rimes at the 2007 Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Awards Party - 2-10-07)
When it comes to her hairstyles, LeAnn has developed a fabulous sense of what works for her hair and fashion style.
For special award shows LeAnn has her hair coiffed by top notch celebrity hairdressers. However, for non-Red Carpet events LeAnn has confessed she loves to do her own hairstyles. LeAnn prefers to wear her hair longer with carefully crafted layers because it offers more versatility.
Although the singing sensation looks spectacular with her hair worn up in a series of sensual twists and updo styles, she loves to wear her hair down and casually chic.
The tools LeAnn uses to create her soft casual styles? Curling irons and hot rollers. She also loves to pin her hair up in a casual twist. Sometimes she uses rollers to create wet sets. More often than not LeAnn wears hair with loose texture on the edges.
Follow the steps listed below to recreate LeAnn’s stunning style shown here:
1. Start by selecting a color safe shampoo with a formula to preserve any gorgeous blonde hues like LeAnn’s current golden shade. Otherwise, select a shampoo that works with your current texture, type and condition of hair.
2. Apply a rinse out conditioner that works for your hair’s normal texture, type and condition. Consider trying a color co-ordinated mask to intensify your existing color. Avoid heavy conditioners for hair that is fine or thin.
3. Finish with a cool/cold rinse to close the cuticle and help add natural shine.
4. Towel blot (never rub or rough dry) to remove excess water.
5. Coat damp strands with a customized styling product cocktail containing styling aides such as a defrisant, volume building mousse, gel or other styling products that work best with your hair texture and type.
6. Blow dry using a large round boar’s bristle brush for strong, lasting support. Direct the air flow down from the roots towards the end to build in shine and smooth strands.
7. Use fingers to lift targeted sections of hair near the roots for desired volume and lift. Direct the air flow of the blow dryer down the hair from the ends to the roots to add lots of volume.
8. Use round brush to lightly roll the ends of the hair under while blow drying.
9. Finish blow drying with blast of cold air, if possible, which sets the style.
(Image of LeAnn Rimes at the 2007 Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Awards Party - 2-10-07)
10. When hair is 100% dry, separate hair into individual 2″ sections. Set on large hot rollers, or curl with a medium sized curling iron to add movement to the strands.
11. After working with each section, add perimeter curls with a curling iron. Release the curls from the curling iron. Roll the newly formed curl with your fingers up towards your scalp. Pin into place to allow the curl to cool completely. Work around the entire head until all sections have been curled and pinned to the scalp. Spritz lightly with a soft hold hairspray.
If you prefer curling with hot rollers, let the curlers completely cool before removing. Once all the rollers have been removed, let new curls dangle free before styling. Spritz lightly with a soft hold hairspray.
12. Once curls are completely cool, use a tail comb or brush to create an off-center part like LeAnn’s style.
13. Use your fingers or a boar’s head brush to direct the hair into a very soft cascade of hair off the face with the ends nestling into the shoulders and cascading down towards the middle of the back.
14. Spray with a firm hold hairspray.
15. If necessary, use a medium barrel curling iron to touch up the ends of the style.
16. Apply a small drop of shine serum and lightly brush over the top of the finished style. If you prefer, use a shine spray product and spray into the palms of your hands and then glide over finished style.
18. If desired, finish the look with a long lasting hairspray for a silky shine effect.
