Ahhhhhhh. Today I treated myself to a 80 minute full body massage at the famous Cooper Clinic Spa off Preston Road in North Dallas. Dr. Cooper is famous for his research in aerobics as well as being one of the President’s medical advisors (George W).

First Lady Laura Bush has been known to travel to the esteemed Cooper Clinic for her annual physical, as do many CEOs and executives of leading corporations. Many famous people including political leaders and business czars have passed through the doors of Cooper Clinic and the Cooper Clinic Spa.

A few days ago I was at a very large grocery store waiting in the checkout lane. A customer in front of me was complaining loudly to the poor checker that she had recently bought a box of cookies (at that store) and she did “not enjoy” the taste but the store would not give her a full refund.

After being annoyed this afternoon when one of my coddled employees refused to work two hours on Sunday helping me with a project where the PM is chewing me up, I picked up a new magazine (well new to me) titled pink. The Founding Editor - Cynthia Good - talks about that nasty word - can’t - in her opening letter.

Recently I discovered a book on Amazon.com with the title of My Side Of The Bandstand by Bob Kuban. Since Bob, who became famous for his hit single - The Cheater - was my music teacher for four years of band class at Bishop du Bourg High School in St. Louis, Mo. I couldn’t resist the book.

WOW. The book was fascinating in so many ways. Written with Nancy K. Wegner, Bob delved deeply into his life as a professional drummer and his entire life from the time he first picked up his beloved drum sticks.

It’s 2:00 in the morning and I am still planted firmly in my best Feng Shui direction typing feverishly on my Notebook that has all the keys on the keyboard worn off. Good thing I’m a touch typist or I would be really screwed if I had to hunt and peck. Those typing classes at Bishop Du Bourg High School back in the old St. Louis high school days certainly came in handy. Actually, not to brag, but I came in at the top of my class for the final year type-off. We didn’t call it keyboarding like they do now…but I digress.

Why am I still up working? It seems like the more efficient I become the less efficient I become and the faster I work, the higher the piles get for me to try and conquer.

After accelerating allergy problems (wheezing, difficulty breathing, runny eyes) my local doctor told me that it was most likely dust mites - eewwww - or other allergens when I was attempting to sleep.

Why? I felt fine at work but my symptoms seemed to kick in at night and in the morning I felt horrible. After some reflection I realized my bed was definitely in need of replacing. UGH. Like I don’t have enough stuff to deal with but now I have to go bed shopping?

Even worse, where to start? Being constantly busy, the thought of spending time, when I could be CEOing or writing, shopping for bedding gave me the shudders.

As a hair, beauty and fashion trend watcher, I have to keep my eyes on all the emerging social arenas, which is why I am an avid Hills watcher.

The Hills (MTV) is fascinating on a number of fronts, from the interpersonal relationships (note to LC - LO is coming between you and the adorable Adrina) to the career building episodes.

If you’re not a Hills fan, the short version is that Heidi, the former Millenium roommate who betrayed a long trusted friendship with Lauren for a - gasp - guy (Spencer Pratt), has now repeated history by dumping an incredible career opportunity.

Certainly if you’re in business, the title - Better Business Bureau Blackmail - got your attention. It’s the addition of the last B to the famous BBB that is of key significance.

Contrary to a long held consumer myths, threatening to call in the BBB, as they are known, when the consumer is not getting their way with a business, does not actually work. If anything, it will probably backfire in a number of ways.
