I was always one of those Type A kids that always knew what I wanted to be when I grew up although it didn’t agree with the vision of my parents.

From the time I was in the 2nd grade I wanted to be a writer. I loved to write little plays that the neighborhood kids would put on. We would assemble a series of milk cartons covered by a large piece of cardboard and the requisite sheet. We also would bug the different parents to string clotheslines so we had a curtain to open and close for each act.

I remember the first play I wrote. It was about the poor little country girl who travels to the city and one day becomes a huge success and marries the man of her dreams. Yeah, lame but what would you expect from a 2nd grade kid?

Around that time my dad decided I should grow up and be a professional musician. Which meant lots of piano, clairnet, guitar and organ lessons with tons of practice, practice, practice. I didn’t particularly share his vision so I was not all that keen about the music part of my life but somehow I managed to thrive and figured all that keyboard work would help my typing.

Actually it did. By the time I got to high school and took keyboarding I was the fastest in my class. At least be chained to the piano helped me in school.

By the time I was in my senior year of high school I had decided the road to being a professional musician was not for me and business seemed a possibility although a little risky. I also decided being a full time writer was folly. I opted for a more practical path and decided to be a sociologist or psychologist. After all, I loved reading true crime books and studying people. It finally happened, my beloved Tivo crashed and burned last night. It has been officially been proclaimed dead.

Contrary to popular opinion, I am not actually addicted to television. The reality? I’m a writer (amongst my other duties as CEO). Not only do I write literally hundreds of articles every year for HairBoutique.com, I also write for 101 Celebrity Hairstyles Magazine, I have a hair column called HairDoctor that appears in various magazines and I write for MMI Short Cuts. My articles also appears in the various MMI Gallery magazines and seasonal specials and I free lance for other magazines. But I’m already boring myself with all this, so without further commentary, lets just say blah, blah, blah.

Yes I read blogs. Hundreds of them. I have to keep up on the Hollywood scene and can’t always get the direct word of mouth stuff.

One of the blogs I regularly check out - That Other Blog reported today that HBO’s Entourage next season, which would normally be starting now, pushed back until next September.

Even more disturbing, the season might be short one or more episodes (12 instead of 14).

Why? The fallout from the writers strike has prevented show creator (and chief writer) Doug Ellin from having all the episodes ready for shooting.

When interviewed about Entourage Doug Ellin replied “I’m writing as fast as I can” to get to the 14 episodes.

Thank goodness I have this Rant Section of my blog to help be blow off some steam. After all, in Japan where the workers literally drop dead from overwork and stress - I need something to help me release frustrations because my treadmill (which helps but is not always available for me when I’m at Starbucks) doesn’t fit in my small car.

The cause of my current rant? It happened again. My work was published without credit to me. No, I can’t say what publication because that would be so rude and of course my editor would hate me forever.

But I feel used and abused and totally picked on. Yes, I’m a full grown adult CEO who is supposed to roll with the punches and I roll so much that I often have lint all over my suit coats. BUT mess with my creativity and I crumble like the top of an Oreo cookie that isn’t perfectly lifted off the icing.
