This was done on the HTC Titan (Verizon xv6800). It may work for others as well, but I’m not sure.
The problem was this: I take mostly landscape photos with my phone, but the phone would always save the image as a portrait. I hate having to go in and rotate each image, so I wanted to change the default to landscape.
This is how to do it.
Download and copy FdcSoft’s Task Manager to your device. open TaskMgr
Select RegEdit from the drop down list on the top right
Browse to HKLM/Software/HTC/Camera/Image
Find and open EnableEncodePortrait
For Portrait as default use 1, for landscape as default use 0 (zero).
Hit Done, Close Task Manager, and soft restart your device.

Hope this helps ya!
