It never fails now, does it? I mean Friday – the best day of the week. I’m pretty positive that Alan Stillman was envisaging along the same lines back in 1965 when he launched his first TGIF restaurant in New York City. TGIF’s also one of the first restaurants to use the term “Happy Hour” which originated in the 1920s as a Navy slang for on-ship performances. Go try the ULTIMATE MUDSLIDE (my favorite), a chocolate-laced avalanche of Kahlua, vodka, Baileys Irish Cream and ice cream. Yummy to the tummy! Highly recommended!!

SUPERMAN 1 & 2 : RICHARD DONNER CUT on DVD / SUPERMAN RETURNS
Lost footage, and original visualisations is the topos for the special edition of the first 2 Superman flicks, which will be released soon. I also read that some of the “lost” footages featuring Marlon Brando during the infamous evasion of Zod may be used for Superman Returns in June 2006. I’m intending to watch it at the GOLD CLASS cinema in GSC Midvalley.

There were few lead actors who were groaked to play Superman – Nicolas Cage, Brendan Fraser, Will Smith, Keanu Reeves, Ashton Kutcher, Jude Law, Matthew McConaughey & Orlando Bloom. All of them don’t merit to play the role. I would’ve preferred Tom Welling of Smallville to lead, but he would’ve had a yobbo time playing the ham-fisted Clark Kent. Anyway, I’ll give this fledgeling Brandon Routh (who bares a passing similitude to Christopher Reeve) the benefit of the doubt – let’s see how he take on this role. Kevin Spacey was cast as Lex Luthor and recommended Kate Bosworth – who’d co-starred in his Bobby Darrow biopic Beyond the Sea – for the Lois Lane role.

SAMBAL KERING IKAN BILIS
This has got the be the most scrumptious cuisine ever dished out by man. This is my favorite fixing. I can subsist on it 24/7, with white rice of course. On the same note, no one can beat my mom’s cooking. Apparently my mom was the cook of the family when she was young (12 brothers and sisters) and she makes the tastiest tarts ever known to man too and this is fact. My mouth’s watering just thinking about it. Man, I miss her cooking.

SUPERMOM, MOST DEAREST
She’s now in India on a 12 day break, will be back later tonight. Looking forward to seeing her. She’s been monumental in my life and my cognitive ontogeny. She’s my superhero and rose against the odds when my dad passed away in 1986. It was her stoutheartedness that made my brother and me who we are today and I’m forever thankful to her for it. Regardless of what others may think of my bond with her, I will always love her the most. Was it too much of a tissue moment for ya? LOL!

NASI KANDAR OUTING
Another thing that the colleagues in my company like to do on a Friday, go on a Nasi Kandar bacchanalia. It’s pretty meretricious considering you get a scrummy fried chicken (meat so white that you need sunglasses), bean sprouts (or cabbage on a lucky day), rice and its renowned curry. All for RM3.50. You may think it’s pricey, but it’s a bargain if you see how bountiful the serving is. For this, we caravan from Menara Merais of Sect 19 PJ all the way to PJ New Town – Nasi Kandar Zainol. It’s a hebdomadally bonding among the chummiest coevals of the team, with the nucleus of Hong Kiat, Gerald & Chelva. Thank you Haris, for deflowering our stomach! :-)

Hope you reveled reading another personal annotation – as I begin to osculate a little of my life’s idiosyncrasies with you. On that note, Keep The Faith and have a great weekend!
