Kid Rock has kept abreast with the times. No more rap rock combination. I remember that I took quite a liking to Kid Rock’s “Forever”, not forgetting Metallica’s cover “Sad But True”, “American Badass”. His first track, “So Hott”, which I blogged about a while ago, is the noisiest. Check out “Roll On”, very Bob Seger-like. There’s even an updated version of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” in the form of “All Summer Long”. This song, I like. Easy on the ears.

Kid Rock – Blue Jeans And A Rosary
All my life I’ve been searching all my life I’ve been uncertain
I been abandoned and left alone at fifteen I had to leave home
The black sheep, the bad seed
At a roadside bar in Tennessee I met an angel to rescue me
She rescued me
She wore blue jeans and a rosary
Believed in God and believed in me
All her friends think she’s a little crazy
She wears a smile, heart on her sleeve
Don’t give a damn what the world thinks of me
She tells me it’s all good
She’s happy with a bad seed
Happy to be misunderstood
Two packs and a pint a day to hide the shame
And wash away the pain aww the pain
Every road was a dead-end street runnin’ from the law
And runnin’ on empty
You couldn’t shake the marks that were left on me

Blue Jeans and a Rosary was actually written in 1992, about my friend Stacy, who was tending bar at a dive in Tennessee that was called the Do-Drop-In. She refused to serve him (because he was already wasted), pouring him cup after cup of coffee, and telling him about the angels she had encountered. He called himself Bobby then.
Here’s a link to her story: http://mamaboogie.gaia.com/blog/2008/8/rock_bottom
