The album kicks off with a strident first track (second track actually, I skipped “Devourâ€), which is the title track, “The Sound of Madnessâ€. I’d recommend this song for all you headbangers. I love that track that I kept it on rewind for hours and hours (OK, not for the whole day but during my commute to and fro to work today).
When the next track kicked in, I thought I unearthed a solid rock album. “Second Chance†is an awe-inspiring mid-tempo tune that deserves to see the light of the day. I was already slobbering in anticipation of what’s to come. Thoughts of another BREAKING BENJAMIN-like band came to mind, and I was already thinking of downloading all of Shinedown’s previous work.
Sadly, that was not the case, shortly after this tune, it declined towards averageness. Oh well. There’s always Offspring’s new album to fall back on….oh wait, I just remembered the new album “Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace†sucked bigtime. I’m gonna look for my Breaking Benjamin CD.
