This tune has been a staple for clubbing, karaoke and you name it for over 2 decades now! But, do you know what exactly Bryan Adams’ singing about?

It sounds straightforward, he bought a guitar, played it til his fingers bled, started a rock band, but the band broke up, and he meets a chick, the best days of his life. But that’s simple not the case.

It’s actually what it is, a tune about oral sex, hidden connotations here and there. Bryan Adams said in one interview, “One thing people never got was that the song isn’t about the year 1969. It’s about making love, a la ‘69!”. The title actually came from the idea of 69 as a metaphor of sex!

“Those were the best days of our lives, when we’re doing the 69!”.
