Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, lended her voice to “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” to countrify Bon Jovi’s 2005 Grammy winning song. Sugarland has now released a new album. I heard “All I Want to Do” for the first time in late May, and I kinda liked it. But after a couple of rewinds, I couldn’t stand that track. It was a ripoff of some other track that I hated too.

Sugarland does a live recorded duet with Little Big Town for the 80’s remake, “Life in a Northern Town” made popular by Dream Academy. This version sucked bigtime. Easily, the best song on their new album has got to be this uplifting track, “It Happens”.

Sugarland – It Happens

Missed my alarm clock ringing
Woke up telephone screaming
Boss man singing his same old song

Rolled in late about an hour
No cup of coffee, no shower
Walk of shame with two different shoes on

Now it is poor me, why me, oh me
Boring the same old worn out blah blah story
There is no good explanation for it at all

Ain’t no rhyme or reason
No complicated meaning
Ain’t no need to over think it
Let go laughing
Life don’t go quite like you planned it
We try so hard to understand
Irrefutable, indisputable
The fact is
It happens
