If you have been following my reviews, you will know that I have a love-hate relationship with Akon. Correction – more hate than love, but when I love the songs, I really do. What I hate is his nasal delivery and similarity in the songs that it lacks creativity. Akon only shines in my opinion [...]
This is a bloody hot number by the nasal-voiced Akon, Pitbull who’s been churning tracks like there’s no tomorrow and Jermaine Dupri, another nasal-voiced rapper. As I have said many times before, hip hop is moving up a couple of notches, marrying its genre with dance music. The hook’s just awesome. DOWNLOAD Akon featuring Pitbull & [...]
It’s produced by Akon’s record company, and hence some portion of the song, especially the melody, will remind you of Gwen Stefani’s combo with Akon a few years ago, called “Sweet Escapeâ€, one of the most terrible songs released in recent times, especially Akon’s “weeeeeee ooooooooâ€. This track doesn’t have anything like that, and unfortunately, [...]
The chorus copies Akon’s previous effort, which is my favorite Akon track, “Day Dreamingâ€, albeit a slowed down version. Sean Kingston’s voice is breaking which is good because I dislike his nasally vocals. And when you put Akon’s ultimate nasal chops aside, this song is not too bad although Akon seems to be running out [...]
This is strictly for fans of hardcore rap, a signature Dr Dre genre. I’m surprised Dre roped in Akon but I suppose the price of being commercial these days. Also, I’m not a fan of Snoop Dogg’s style of rapping either. I think Dre’s Eminem is more accomplished than Snoop Dogg, especially when he comes [...]
Personally, I find this song annoying, as annoying as Akon as time goes by. Matisse could’ve done a better job had she not roped Mr Nasal, and also took the chorus more seriously instead of repeating the words endlessly. Those are my 2 thorns for this track, otherwise, it’s OK. DOWNLOAD Matisse featuring Akon – [...]
Akon, an artist that I find bloody annoying because of his nasal deliveries, have some really good tunes, especially IF he does a cameo, or like this one where he teams up with Keri Hilson. On his own, Akon’s rubbish. I’m not sure what motivated him to sing a song about Africa, but the African [...]
Damn! Another MJ song surfaces! Apparently Lenny Kravitz mentioned earlier that he did record a duet with MJ, and if this is it, DAMN DAMN DAMN! The collaboration is freaking cool because they both complement each other – MJ brings the magic and Lenny Kravitz brings what he brings best, sex appeal rock. This is [...]
Akon, most people I know find him irritating, but I’m not sure if that’s a deceiver so they do not look like fools as they’re actually closet fans, or they just simply cannot endure his voice. I have a love-hate thing going on with this fella, because half of his tunes I think are purely wish-wash while the [...]
TRAGIC Michael Jackson had been working on a new song with his three young children – and said they were “The Jackson Fourâ€, sources close to the family revealed last night. Jacko began writing the number – titled River Ripple – after a day spent playing traditional games with son Prince Michael, 12, daughter Paris, [...]
