13 Weeks

Wow can’t believe it is already 13 weeks along — that has gone super fast! Had my first week on the phones and it has been pretty good, I have to keep writing post it notes so I don’t forget things (I am always forgetting certain bits and it is trying me nuts, blame it on the baby me thinks!).

So we had our 12 week scan on Monday which was amazing, I was at the hospital forever because baby is a wriggly little bugger and wouldn’t stay still for the combine testing for certain things eg. downs, the baby had to lay still so that she could see the spine and the nose (no idea why) but we had to keep going for a walk or something like that to get it to move into the correct position, an hour and half later baby did.  Just got the results today the test was negative :) so that is very good news.  It was amazing to see her (I still think it’s a girl so I call baby a her a lot and by the name we have chosen but I am keeping that a secret of the internet ha ha!), she was moving so much and waving!

So here is baby Damita at 12 weeks 1 day (according to the testing piece of paper).

My 20 week scan is booked in for the 2nd of April, I am so looking forward to having a big bump.  I have a small one and it is noticeable that I am pregnant but I would like a huge one, I am sure I will regret saying that later ha ha!

Other than that not much else is going on at this end, just working and growing a baby.

Can I join a different club?

It’s been a week since I was told I have PCOS and it has taken awhile for it to sink into my brain, not only that but I have had some conversation with my own mother about it turns out she more than likely has it too. But didn’t realise and since it is normally genetic — I did approach my mum and was like are you sure? I know you had mild endo and she was like oh yeah I think I do as I did have a cyst explode once and I did have miscarriages before you and your brothers. Then she went on to tell me I look like I have PCOS, I really don’t know what a person looks like when they have PCOS but according to my mother I look like I do, gee thanks. But she has been really supportive so I am grateful for that.

PCOS is a common inherited genetic condition. It is inherited in an autosomal dominant system with high genetic penetrance but variable expressivity in females, meaning that each child has a 50% chance of inheriting the gene from a parent who carries the gene, and if a daughter receives the gene, then the daughter will have the disease to some extent. The gene can be inherited from either the father or the mother, and can be passed along to both sons, who are asymptomatic carriers, and daughters, who will show signs of PCOS. The exact gene that is affected has not yet been identified.

I think telling people was quite hard, my husband was the worse because I feel like I have fail him, there isn’t anything wrong with him, he should be able to breed easy peasy but then he did marry a broken girl, people say I have to stop referring to myself as broken, I went through a stage this week where I just felt like rubbish and not sexy. It is all in my head, this isn’t a new thing I guess because I didn’t know it didn’t effect me but now I do know I just felt like since I don’t work I don’t feel womanly. My husband hasn’t done anything to push this feeling at all, it’s all me.

Telling my parents was fine, told my father — he doesn’t want to be a granddad but at the end of the day he hasn’t much choice but he has been really supportive, told him how this cycle will happen with all the drugs and whatnot, my mother on the other hand after I had got of the phone to her googled and researched everything. I have only told two off-line friends — my best friend was very supportive so I am really grateful for that.

I’ve had to start a new diet called low GI Diet to help with my PCOS and so far so good, I have to stay away from white potatoes, chips and cake but I can have sweet potatoe and wholemeal pasta. It is helping I have lost 3 pounds this week and it is helping my triedness.

Clomid starts Monday, can I be a member of a different club?

A bee is never as busy as it seems; it’s just that it can’t buzz any slower.

Since my last blog post I have been so busy with university work it is crazy, I even got an e-mail for graduation yesterday and my exam timetable, I cannot believe that this is it! In less than 3 months I am going to be finished, I am going to have a degree! How did that happen, I swear it only feels like yesterday I was whining to my friend on the train saying that three years seems like a life time away and he turning to me saying it will fly by, guess what it flew by!

I am still unsure what I am doing after my degree but I will be completing my PGCE in ICT teaching just because it will help even if I don’t go into to teaching, I would really like to work in an E-learning area, I cannot believe how much I enjoy learning about and creating E-learning website and flash games, even if flash sometimes makes me want to stab myself in the eye with a fork but so does any programming language.

So what does that leave me.. I now have two assignments due in and my 3rd year project draft report due in two weeks and it is nearly done just got to write bits up and then all I have is four exams.  I am getting quite emotional about it all, I’ve been back in education after working for full-time for five years now and it has been safe, now I have to go into the big scary world to work and earn some pennies.

Does everyone feel the same after finishing college or a degree? How did you feel?

New Sofa!

Myself and my best friend’s new baby girl.

Other than this sudden panic about finishing my degree, we have been doing up the house, we brought new sofas last week and got a new bed frame, coming tomorrow we will have our new office stuff and table and chairs, I am very excited!! Also my best friend gave birth to her baby a whole two weeks early or it might of been more, might of been a month, she is healthy and very cute!!

Okay dokey I am off to work on some more java for one of my assignments. Oh and I failed my driving test for the second time.

Relaxing?

I’ve never been able to relax, I am always worrying or stressing about something, I really can’t help it, I think it is just the way I am made.  But at the moment I have more stress than I really want, I am in my last term which has units in at university, plus trying to complete my third project, I have a driving test in less than a week (which is going to be so scary even more so since I am stressing I forget stupid little things, the other day for example I forgot what side of the road to be on and that really worried me) and the TTC.

I think with university I need more time, I spend most my hours listening to lectures and playing catch up, this week I spent 9 hours in my university labs working on a flash time for my third year project which is still not working and I have eight of these to do in the next month!! Driving freaks me out, even more so with the test coming up (while writing this I can feel my heart rate rising and my hands are getting sweaty! That’s how bad it is), I think even if I fail that’s not a big deal I’ll just re-book but I really want to pass first go.

The TTC is still not going to plan since I am not pregnant, and it seems to be the furthest from my mind lately, but I am stuck at the moment in some weird cycle, I am on cycle day 50 with no period in sight.  I am definitely not pregnant so who knows what is going on with my body last time this happened I was taking my exams in the summer and ended up with a 59 day cycle.  But I cannot see the stress of the two items above disappearing for awhile so I don’t really want to wait until June to get my period!  I took soy this month and I hate the stuff now, I have taken it for 3 cycles and it has managed to mess up all three!

I am trying to find ways to relax, I did take a bath with bubbles and candles yesterday and sat in it for 45 minutes that was really nice, but how else do you relax? for someone who doesn’t relax, I found this list on-line:
