Hard as nails

After completing my 101 things in 1001 days task of stop biting my nails about a year and half ago, I started biting my nails and this drove me crazy, I could not seem to stop myself, every time I got stressed or worried I would bite.  This happened a lot due to the fact I’ve had exams every year for the past three years and learning how to drive made me very nervous and on edge.

My fingers have been all short and to the stage where they would bleed.

My friend and me plus my bitten nails :(

So I went to visit my father and sisters in Scotland, my youngest sister who is now 12 told me she use to bite her nails but she found a solution, if I kept my nails painted then I would not bite them, I was uh huh crazy kids and their nail painted ways but I hate to say it but it works! I haven’t bitten my nails since my sister painted them when up there (crazy paint job I ended up with half my fingers covered in red paint!) and it has been about two or three week, they are getting quite long.

I know this is a silly thing to dedicate a whole blog post for but it’s a big deal for me, I’m trying to learn different ways to cope with stress and these do not include chewing my nails until they bleed, but having long nails means I can paint them!  I’ve never been more excited!

I ordered a base coat and a top coat plus researched fashion colours for this year.

Summer 2011

The first one is nudes, pale nudes and peach, I just brought these two from Barry M and cannot wait to try it out. These are mentioned as the colour for Summer 2011.

Spring 2011

The second is baby blues/blue or pale greens.  This one is for Spring 2011.  I need to get a more of a paler baby blue so will have to spend some time hunting I like these ones.

Fall 2011

The third is lilacs, purples & violets for Fall 2011, I love love purples in general so this is fab, I have this darker shade of purple which I have been wearing and I have this new lilac shade which is called ice cream, yum!

Winter 2011

The fourth is Gun-Metal Grays metallic, I have a grey ish colour but I am unsure what is meant by this colour.

Another favourite trend at the moment is the whole cracking top coat, I have ordered it in black so will have to post a review once I start playing with it, hopefully it should look pretty cool :)

I also think these are pretty cool!

I will wear normally any colours minus yellow, what are your favourite colour nail polish? I do love red nails and spent two weeks with red nails now I am enjoying painting them different colours.
