SEO list: Where to add your Google Sitemaps.

You’ve created the Google Sitemaps file with one of the many available Wordpress plugins? You added it to your Google Webmaster Tools account? You added it to your robots.txt file? Good. I did that, too. But all that work, just for Google? Of course, Google is the mighty giant and most important, but now that you have gone through all the hardships creating it, why not ‘feature’ it a bit more? Think of it as a huge RSS feed that you can give to search engines. You might want to reach more then only Google - and there are some more that accept it! So here you go, a list with all the search engines I could find that accept your sitemap_index.xml file:

Google Webmaster Tools

Yahoo! Site Explorer

MSN Live Search

Ask.com: http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap= (add your URL at the end of the link and hit enter)

moreover: http://api.moreover.com/ping?u= (add your URL at the end of the link and hit enter)

Right now, I could find these 4 engines next to Google who support sitemaps. I will keep updating this entry when new engines are available. Best subscribe to my RSS feed to stay up to date…

Pownce invites.

Who wants a Pownce invitation? I got 6 left… Leave a comment and fill out the mail address, it won’t be visible on the site but I’ll see it and send a invite out. Pownce is the “new twitter”, made by a couple of people including Kevin Rose, the guy who invented digg.com. Cool shit there!

flickr is now known as sevenload.

Now that flickr is (again) really completely blocked in China (or is it?), I decided to move away from it for good. Since I am german, the decision was easy: I went to sevenload. I also created an account with ipernity, but they seem to be too much of a flickr clone, which I simply don’t like (no really, it’s because they’re french). Sevenload offers me free hosting of images and videos which is exactly what I need. After my flickr pro account has finished, I will not renew it anymore. Instead, I will only upload to sevenload in the future. I will not delete my flickr account because there are too many images, so feel free to browse around, in my photographical past. Here are some new HDR images I made today. Hosted by sevenload.

This is exactly what Safari looks like when you try to open Wikipedia or, in the past, blogger.com. Now this shows up when I try to open Twitter. I just wrote something on Twitter, then BAM! gone. Hope they’re not blocking everybody’s new web 2.0 darling now, too! They already killed myspace.com and are forcing everyone to go to myspace.com.cn…
