Balanced Rock

October 29, 2008 |

It’s the size of three schoolbuses.

It weighs about at 3,577 tons! At 3,577 tons times 2,000 pounds per ton, that’s over 7,000,000 (seven million) pounds!

The rock formation to the right of Balanced Rock had a similar piece called Chip Off the Old Block. It fell off in winter 1975.

Beautiful pictures. Are these natural formations or result of an ancient volcanic explosion?

these are formations carved by wind and water.
