This New Years Eve, the eve of the year 2010, is so full of astrological symbolism! As a intuitive and interpreter of spiritual creations I have seen so many positive changes in this last month, and as an empath I also feel the change for myself and for others.
Here’s how it all chalks up:
We have a rare blue moon in the historical sense. The blue moon means the 2nd full moon of the month. The last time we had a blue moon on December 31st was in 1990, with the next coming about in 2028.
This calendar year is also special with 13 full moons. The number 13 in the Mayan Calendar is magical. The 31st gives us a combination of 10 Ix, the Jaguar (with 10 signifying completion), leading us into the first day of a new decade with 11 Men, the Eagle. Two very powerful examples that we are ready for change, change for the better.
Europe, Asia, and Australia get a little more bang for their buck – with a partial lunar eclipse this night as well! Such an event can only occur when the Sun, Earth and Moon are closely aligned. Need we say more? Is there some significance beyond the intuitive meaning?  Many of us hope so. The number ten is the number of completion. Bear with me as a play with phonics: will 2010 be the year we are finally free of the things we “shun”, like recession, oppression, depression?
Full moons, especially when accompanied by an eclipse, are a time to release that which no longer serves us. Ancient Goddess teachings say that the blue moon is the transition of the crone aka grandmother phase to the “divine” place of existence.
