Florida Senator proposes Inflammatory Science Bill

“…Provides public school teachers with a right to present scientific information relevant to the full range of views on biological
and chemical origins. Prohibits a teacher from being discriminated against for presenting such information. Prohibits students from being
penalized for subscribing to a particular position on evolution, etc.â€

State Senator Ronda Storms of Florida submitted the above proposed legislation, and you should see the outrage on the INTERNET. News and blog sites are abristle with attacks on Senator Storms and others who would dare suggest that science shouldn’t have an a priori commitment to evolution and naturalism. She doesn’t suggest that evolution be banned, only that teachers be allowed to discuss the full range of views on biological and chemical origins. Hmm, banning ideas from the classroom, I thought that was our job as the fundamentalist science haters. I guess atheists can be dogmatic too. If you live in Florida, be prepared to talk about this and make phone calls – The unfettered practice of science depends on it.

I don’t see any Dawkinsian Spaghetti Monster mentioned in the bill. Where did you get such a crazy idea?
