Paragon Casino Resort Presents Neal McCoy at the Mari Showroom

neal-mccoyMarksville, LA (October 15, 2009) – Paragon Casino proudly tips its hat and gives a big holiday “howdy†to country singing sensation, Neal McCoy, who will perform at the Mari Showroom on Friday, December 11, at 9 p.m.  Those who attend should expect a holiday concert of country carols, along with some of Neal’s greatest hits.  Tickets go on sale Friday, October 23, general admission tickets are $25; doors open at 8 p.m. with McCoy taking the stage at 9 p.m.  Neal McCoy is an acclaimed country singer and musician most recently known for his 2005 album, That’s Life, and popular bar hit, “Billy’s Got His Beer Goggles On.â€Â

Originally from Jacksonville, Texas, McCoy developed his rich baritone voice at an early age.  In 1981, he got his big break after winning a talent competition that granted him the opportunity to tour with country legend Charlie Pride as an opening act, which he carried out for six years.

McCoy’s career went from the stage to the studio in 1988 with his debut single, “That’s How Much I Love You,†and 1991 debut album, At This Moment, with the follow-up album, Where Forever Begins, released a year later.  However, there is “no doubt†that his 1994 album, No Doubt About It, is what transformed him from opening act to mainstream material in the country music world.  The album’s title track, “No Doubt About It,†and single, “Wink,†both topped Billboard charts for several weeks and sold over a million copies.  All together, he has recorded three platinum albums and one gold album in addition to many Top Ten hits.

McCoy has also managed to take his talent on the road and perform several USO music tours for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.  He also established the East Texas Angels Network, a nonprofit organization that raises money for medical treatments and related costs for terminally ill children in East Texas.  In 2005, his commitment to both causes earned him an Academy of Country Music’s Home Depot Humanitarian Award.  Other awards include the 2006 Country Broadcasters’ Artist Humanitarian of the Year award and the 2007 W.B. Brandon and Carrell Humanitarian Award, the largest non-mason award given by the Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas.
