Linen Closet

Today I decided to tackle the linen closet. It has been bugging me since we moved here last October.

I couldn’t really figure out the best way to organize the closet. In the past I have organized it by type, but that wasn’t really working for us. I decided to organize it by room. Since we have three bedrooms I made a shelf for each one, mom & dad, boys, and girls. I also have a shelf for blankets, and I ended up with two empty shelves so I put diapers on one shelf and the other one is still empty. Maybe it is waiting for all my CVS goodies?

As you can see I was not going for the Martha Stewart Perfect Sheet Folding look, rather just getting things folded, put away, and organized.

Here is a picture of the labels I put on the shelves so the kids know where to put things.

I love cleaning and organizing. I cleaned my pantry the other day and nothing but the smiles of my little guys made me feel better. And it is still organized today!

Cleaning a closet always makes me feel so much better!

Every week I say I am going to tackle my linen closet and every week I decide to put it off for “just one more week.” I feel very inpsired now after seeing fabulous yours looks! Great tackle

Great tackle! I did some closets and drawers this week!

Laurie says:

Great job! My closests are probably the worst “rooms” in our house. ;)

My linen closet it shaped like yours with wire shelfs. I think it’s sooo hard to keep it organized! Good job.

Dawn says:

You had a really great idea to organize the shelves by room. I never would have thought of that but it makes perfect sense.

Jientje says:

Great job, and very well done! I love organizing closets, It’s a challenge to have at least one shelf empty in the end!

Lynne says:

Nice job! I like the idea of organizing by room.

Oh come on!! I know you can do better than that! If you are taking the time to organize, then you should take the time to do it all the way! Towel and face cloths folded neating and all turning one way with no ends showing. You should have a contest as to who keeps their shelf the neatest. My Mom, okay maybe it was my grandmother, taught me how to fold sheets and towels and that was WAAAAAY before Martha Stewart. When you have small places you learn to be extra neat and organized. Can wait to see how you tackle under the bathroom sink andor the kitchen sink. I always heard if you want to know how and organized someone truly is take a look under their sinks… Get busy girls!

Somebody's Mimi says:

I meant to say, “Can’t wait to see you tackle under the bathroom sink and/or the kitchen sink. I have always heard if you want to know how clean and organized someone truly is, take a look under their sink.”
Oh I see more mistakes… I just give up… for now!

The closets look great! Ugh that is something on my to do list that I just seem to never want to go and actually do. I really need to do some spring cleaning and organize all of the children’s toys and clothes. Maybe that can be my tackle next week…

Jennifer says:

Looks great! My hallway closet is one of the next things on my list, but every time I look at it, the mess is so overwhelming, I just close the door and walk away. Maybe next week :)

Late making my rounds. Awesome tackle! Stop by to see the progress on my sunflowers.
