The TwitterStars.com Theme

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

markdavidson I have created the greatest WordPress theme in the history of the world!

mattdelves @markdavidson That’s a horrible theme.

markdavidson @mattdelves What are you talking about? That theme is *perfect*

mattdelves @markdavidson The theme has horrible colors which hurt the eyes to look at.

markdavidson @mattdelves Okay, I’ll switch the header to a powder blue, change the outline to a nice grey with a soft glow, and change the link colours.

mattdelves @markdavidson That sounds like the default wordpress theme.

markdavidson @mattdelves How much are you trying to raise to fund your new software project?

jpostman theme schmeme

DaisyAvenue @jpostman Are you doing that in bed, from your iPhone, heavily medicated just to make fun of @markdavidson’s fun, colorful theme? Too sweet!

mattdelves @markdavidson Trying to raise around $7k. This should see me to the end of the year and release http://Scribere.info

jpostman @DaisyAvenue you are scary smart

markdavidson @mattdelves http://scribere.info/ sounds like a worthwhile software project! Good luck! http://twitter.com/mattdelves/statuses/818183874

eeUS @DaisyAvenue @markdavidson I can’t believe I made TwitterStars! That yellow will really wake someone up in the morning! Is that the intent

jpostman @DaisyAvenue @mattdelves is keeping @markdavidson honest. all I have to do is relax and watch the community police its own

DaisyAvenue @jpostman But when I look at http://www.twitterstars.com I just want to put on my red patent leather roller skates and DANCE! :-D

markdavidson @eeUS According to @mattdelves, “The theme has horrible colors which hurt the eyes to look at.” Meh. Programmers. http://scribere.info/

eeUS @markdavidson It’s the content that counts, right? However, stars & red, white, and blue would be nice. What does your creative side think?

markdavidson @eeUS BRIGHT YELLOW!

veewow @markdavidson nice one

eeUS @markdavidson Yellow does not distract from the content. I saw the site. It helped me wake up this morning. Yellow is happy, bitterpants.

RickWolff @markdavidson I fell upon a graphics freelance gig, which might get rather big-picture conceptually. I’m combing TwitterStars for hints.

eeUS @markdavidson There goes your reputation :) Mr. Happypants

JeannieGrrl @markdavidson Lovely!! http://TwitterStars.com gave me a lovely glow with my AM java today. A great little snicker or three. Looking great!

Marketing, In My Timeline?

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

markdavidson Someone provided me a link for an ebook on how to market using Twitter. It’s $20. Please save your money. Ask me anything you want instead.

markdavidson My email address is mark.davidson@shiftplusone.com. I will take all the questions and answers and then open source them with full credits.

annezieger @markdavidson OK Mark, how should corporate Twitterers like @HRBlock make themselves known in this medium?

Owlbert @markdavidson I can’t resist. How do I market using Twitter?

HRBlock @annezieger @markdavidson We await your answer with much anticipation!

markdavidson I will answer all questions individually. Please include your name, company, URL, Twitter name, and social-network links. I’ll distribute.

markdavidson @annezieger An excellent open-ended question. Thank you for the opportunity to answer. Please give me 24 hours. Thank you. :-)

annezieger @markdavidson I’m known for big questions, Mark. I’m sure you can handle it though :-)

The answers are coming. Nobody sent me an email, so I’ve decided to blurb in 10 chunk sections, on Twitter. It’s a little bit of extra work but it’s coming along. Please be patient with me. Thanks.

Start With A Blank Piece of Paper

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

markdavidson Each new day is a gift. Every morning, we start the day with a blank piece of paper and we can write upon it, anything we want. Our choice.

604homesguy @markdavidson awesome, needed that!

ActiveRich @markdavidson Psalm 139: “All my days were ordained before even one of them came to be”

markdavidson Each of us are the architects of our day and therefore our lives. Each day is a new beginning, a new opportunity. Every day is a new chance.

criana @markdavidson I need to have my iPhone speak that to me every morning I wake up :)

Ecrivaine33 @markdavidson wow, very philosophical today? Good inspiration, esp. when one day goes bad. Always another around the corner to get right.

markdavidson Past and future do not exist outside of yourself. They are not real. The only thing that is real is the here and now; this moment is yours.

markdavidson The only way to be happy is the acceptance of now. Let go of everything outside of this moment and just be. Let go of the past ond future.

markdavidson Put all of your mental energy into this moment and live there. Be present at all times.

markdavidson If you live your day in the past or future, you run the risk of missing what’s happening in the now. This moment is yours. You create it.

markdavidson Today, be mindful of the moments you create. Own them. This is the gift we have been given. We are responsible for our now. Response-able.

markdavidson Each of us has the ability to respond. This is what separates us from the animals which are in a constant state of reaction.

markdavidson By responding to the present, we assure ourselves of creating the best possible outcomes for the future.

bikerbar @markdavidson : exactly correct … I give this dharma talke often in my zen center ….actually in my martial arts center also …

bikerbar @markdavidson : course … in martial arts… if they are not MINDful in the NOW ….. I get to hit them in the head with a bamboo sword ;-)

markdavidson This frees our mental/emotional energies, allowing us to focus all our mental energy on the present moment. Create your future in the now.

markdavidson @bikerbar Please stop making me laugh. Lol. :-D You are awesome! Thank you. :-)

Remiss63 @markdavidson a truly wonderful sentiment. the metaphor of “writing your day” is fantastic. i can visualize that better than past & future.

markdavidson Thank you for reading. I wrote this for a friend and as a reminder for myself. Be ever present in your life. Don’t miss any of the gift. :-)

chareeklimek @markdavidson it was beautiful - thanks for sharing it. Good timing too :-)

RickWolff @markdavidson Thank you for writing. How Pistachioesqueâ„¢ of you! I find lately I can’t get enough of those words.

markdavidson @Ecrivaine33 If you are breathing, you are having a good day. Release all negative attachments. Every moment is a new opportunity.

Sweetnote @markdavidson I love the quotes…REALLY speaks to me today!

ophelia @markdavidson beautiful words.

BradCoy @markdavidson Great words of empowerment and responsibility. Being ‘present’ is one of the best ideas to be reminded of.

Devyl @markdavidson excellent thoughts you posted earlier. I’m very much in agreement, as you know from seeing my Gtalk IM status message. Kudos^5
