This interview was recorded at VMWorld Europe 2008 in Cannes, France, and features Mike Grandinetti, VP & Chief Marketing Officer with Virtual Iron. Mike and Tarry discussed a wide–ranging set of industry issues including customer requirements, obstacles to broader market adoption, the emerging competitive landscape, and Virtual Iron’s market position relative to VMware and Microsoft.

Having used Virtual Iron, XenSource and Vmware VI3 I have concluded that while VirtaulIron and Xen might possibly save a few dollars (and on paper have similar features) Vmware is 100% the only product really worth using - it’s completely robust, performs to expectation and the entire VI3 solution works how you expect it should. Direct experience is that any savings in buying the competitors products will quickly become regret for not buying VMware - and being completely happy. (in my opinion).

I have used both and Virtual Iron is easier to use and performs better, because of smaller footprint . It offers and does all that VMware V3i doesn’t. Just because you cost the most doesn’t mean that your the best(Microsoft). For you are in small to mid business Virtual Iron is best choice for the fact of functionality v. cost and customer support.
