Sorry I was a little slow on the Australian Virtual Console release update this week … I was on holiday. This week (well, last week) brings two new games to the Wii Virtual Console; a Super Nintendo release, Vegas Stakes, and another Bonk franchise release for TurboGrafx-16, Bonk 3: Bonk’s Big Adventure.

Vegas Stakes (SNES) is not just a set of casino games, but a “casino gambling simulation” … including pick pockets and desperate gambling addicts trying to sell you their valuables. You can play Craps, Roulette, Blackjack, Poker, and Slots at various casinos around Vegas, in your quest to win 10 million big ones.

Bonk 3: Bonk’s Big Adventure (TG-16) is, as the title suggests, the third installment in this platformer series. Has a nice range of fun powerups, including a blue pill/red pill to switch between a giant Bonk and a tiny Bonk. The bright bold graphics are superb; if you’ve played the other Bonk platformers, you pretty much know what to expect. Unlike the previous Bonk platformers, Bonk 3 has a two-player cooperative mode (with a shared health meter !).
