Hi there! I’m Jana.
Choosing a photographer is one of the most important decisions when planning your wedding. You want to make sure you’re choosing a photographer whose work you connect with, but just as importantly, whose personality you connect with. I know it’s not easy to get a good feel for who somebody is through a website, but hopefully through reading about my experiences and my stories, you can get a peek into my life. I hope that with this blog I can give brides & grooms, their friends and family, and everyone out there a better idea of who I am and what I love to do.
Wedding photography is my passion. It’s my dream job, and I love what I do. I do, after all, get to spend most of my weekends celebrating with gorgeous, glowing people on one of the biggest days of their lives. I like to think that that passion shows through my work, and in the relationships we form. I believe in creating fun, fresh and honest images filled with emotion that tell the true story of your wedding day. One of my first weddings almost 4 years ago (long before I started blogging) was Jessika & Byron’s. 
Through Jessika & Byron’s wedding I met Sandy & Trevor. Through Sandy & Trevor’s wedding I met Adrienne & Scott. And now through Adrienne & Scott’s wedding I’ve met Joanne & Chris. I am a lucky girl.
Like the rest of the people I’ve worked with in this chain, these two are unbelievably sweet and kind people. So sweet that Chris even ran a very long way back to the car after this shoot to bring my little Quinn a very thoughtful (& stylish!) baby gift. If this is the caring they show people they’ve recently met, their family and close friends must be very lucky people.
What I love about this session – beyond the sultriness they both pull off so effortlessly – is their quiet loving glances and movements. Chris is an expert nuzzler (big points in my books!)….and it appears to have come from plenty of practice.
These two are now married….those photos to come in the next few weeks!

I really can not say enough good things about Louisa & Chris.
Sometimes I go to those perfect 1st meetings where an hour flies by and we realize we haven’t even really talked about photography yet. That was my first meeting with Louisa & Chris. We clicked right away and I knew from the start that this was a wedding I wanted to be involved in. And since we first met last winter, Louisa has become one of my biggest cheerleaders and regular blog followers. Being a self-employed artist as well, she knows how much it means to have people truly appreciate your work. These two have a serious love for frisbee golf (so much so that it’s where Chris proposed!)Â and decided to incorporate that into their session. Love it!
I love the love in this photo. This is not a pose I would ever ask people to do, but it’s one of those in between moments that I feel lucky to capture.
Then we decided to pop over to Jericho for a moody Vancouver beach day.

Loryne & Josh, like most people new to being in front of the camera, were nervous about the engagement shoot when we discussed it at our first meeting. But on the day, they showed up dressed to kill with the attitudes of supermodels. We were able to have a great time with the session, which is always my main goalbecause these shoots should never feel like work.
As a result, this post may be a little photo heavy. I just couldn’t stop myself.
