An Emcee, Producer, Screenwriter, Actor, & Movie Director, Cube wears many hats.Who would have ever thought that “Dopeman” Ice Cube would take it this far? The Best in the West, in my (TS Wun) opinion, Crooked I, revives a classic originally done by Ice Cube, with Jackin’ For Beats 2009. This one is way doper, however, as Crooked goes in over a variety of beats, and murders them all.

Anyone who ever bumped Lil John in the whip knows that his beats are killa, but that whole Crunk Movement thing he had has been dead. I hope it doesnt come back because all it ever led to is wack artists rappin’ over hard beats. (Ex : Gucci Man and our Bonus song we added.)

Legendary rapper Ice Cube has joined forces with NBA superstar Lebron James to develop a one-hour drama for ABC.

According to The Plain Dealer, the show will be based on James’ experiences as a black high school student playing in a small town.

This marks the third television project that Ice Cube has been attached to. The rapper helmed the 2006 FX reality show Black. White and will be serving as an executive producer for an upcoming cop comedy series for NBC.

In related news, a documentary which captures James’ actual high school days will be opening in theatres in 2009.

Interscope Records honcho Jimmy Iovine is attached to the doc and has plans to promote the film via live performances and a soundtrack.

Debuting at No. 5 on Billboard Charts this week is Ice Cube with his ninth solo album titled Raw Footage.

The set, which features appearances from Young Jeezy, The Game and Musiq, scanned 69,760 discs in its opening week. Very nice with basically no radio and video play

Lil Wayne slips to No.8. Tha Carter III shifted 56,800 discs this week.
