Ya boy TS Wun had the privilege of choppin’ it up with Rapper Big Pooh of Little Brother. We covered slew of topics including the Digital Revolution, Sports, Hip Hop, and the new album, Delightful Bars.  Check it out.
5 Star Hip Hop: I appreciate you taking the time to sit down with me/ I’ve been a fan from the beginning. We do our best to promote Hall of Justice (HOJ).
Rapper Big Pooh: Thanks bruh…real talk.
5 Star Hip Hop: Tell me, Delightful Bars, What’s it all about?
Rapper Big Pooh: It’s about me growing; me expanding; me wanting to share my progression with the world.
5 Star Hip Hop: Rapper’s Delight was dope. How does the new album, Delightful Bars stack up? Or does it, in your opinion?
Rapper Big Pooh: It’s Rapper’s Delight on steroids in my opinion; it has a mixture of Rapper’s Delight jams and some extra shit recording during the making of a couple different projects.
5 Star Hip Hop: All the Little Brother fans want to know; Is Little Brother done?
Rapper Big Pooh: Not at all. People got what we doing confused. More LB material is definitely on the way, sooner than what people may think.
5 Star Hip Hop: How do you feel about Hip Hop’s current state?
Rapper Big Pooh: I feel like people are doing too much bandwagon riding. People see something that works for another cat and try to copy that.
5 Star Hip Hop: What keeps you grounded and rooted in the true art form?
Rapper Big Pooh: Knowing that people will always fuck with me cause of me, not because I did that one hot joint like T-Pain or did that one hot joint like Kanye.
5 Star Hip Hop: Talk about the production on Delightful Bars. Who are some of the producers you worked with?
Rapper Big Pooh: Khrysis, Illmind, 9th, Phonix, The Co-Op, Ohno.
5 Star Hip Hop: You have been in the industry for some time now. How do you deal with the label executives? How do you make them feel what you are trying to do?
Rapper Big Pooh: I don’t have that exact problem these days…when we were on Atlantic it was tough though. Trying to get someone that don’t really know you to understand your vision will have you ready to punch a brick wall.
5 Star Hip Hop: There was very little promotion of the Little Brother album, The Minstrel Show. It’s hard to believe that such a great album didn’t get more shine. Why was that?
Rapper Big Pooh: That’s what happens when two sides don’t see eye to eye on what’s going on.
5 Star Hip Hop: Do you feel it will be different for Delightful Bars? If so, how?
Rapper Big Pooh: The vision is a collaborative effort between me, my manager dho, and my art guy Tobias Rose, so everything you see is what I want you to see and how I want you to see it.
5 Star Hip Hop: Does that explain the 5 (brilliant) different album Covers?
Rapper Big Pooh: (Laughs) Yeah. We wanted to do something a lil’ different that rap niggas ain’t doing.
5 Star Hip Hop: How do you feel about the whole digital movement?
Rapper Big Pooh: The digital movement is cool. It allows for people who may not have had a chance at exposure some opportunity. It’s a downside to that movement as well; no quality control; too much garbage passing through. Too many people who have no business making music flooding the digital airwaves with their brand of garbage.
5 Star Hip Hop: Do you visit the blogs normally?
Rapper Big Pooh: Not really. I’m a sports fan; I spend most of my internet time looking at sports shit.
5 Star Hip Hop: Who’s your NBA team?
Rapper Big Pooh: The Wizards. I’m from the DMV…I fuck wit the ‘Skins, Wizards, Orioles, Capitals, Gtown Hoyas, Maryland Terps.
5 Star Hip Hop: Is there anything you want the fans to know, other than the fact that you support losing teams? (Laughs) Steelers all day.
Rapper Big Pooh: (Laughs) I want them to hit me up on twitter; twitter.com/rapperbigpooh. Come converse with ya boy! And for the record…Steelers are cool with me. I support black head coaches (who can actually coach) and awesome defenses.
5 Star Hip Hop: That’s what it is. Thanks for the love; we appreciate you taking the time out to chop it up with us. Much love to you and HOJ.
Rapper Big Pooh: We appreciate it too. Peace.
