Welcome to Bible Reading

A Bible reading schedule is a basic tool to building a firm spiritual foundation for growth in the ways of God. There are many good Bible reading plans to choose from and I’m continually looking for the ones that can work for the 21st century lifestyle. Bottom line is that a Bible reading year requires definite commitment.

First, you should choose the version that you are most comfortable reading. The words should bring something to your spirit, not just your mind. We will be offering free downloads of digital versions in the very near future. So be sure to check back. If you don’t already own a print version, here are some that we really like.

You might prefer to choose one that has a daily bible reading plan already built in. I recently invested in a New Living Translation that takes you through the Bible in one year chronologically – as the events happened. That’s a variation on Bible reading, one year at a time.

I have finally completed a comprehensive Bible Reading Page and you can reference it most easily from the Monthly Reading Archives link at the top of the screen. You can print this page out and have it handy for daily reference also.

One of the unique things about this blog is that the daily bible readings are enhanced by videos. We are looking for new ones regularly to enhance your study. Some of them have entertainment value and others are simply teachings that help to give the reading more meaning. If you go to the About page, you’ll see how this got started with my “Read Through the Bible” in 90 days experience.

You’ll find that you can pace yourself through the chapters if you use the online audio along with the version that opens when you click on the daily chapter links. I’ve tried to remember to include the audio links for you, but if they’re missing, check the Blogroll for the streaming audio player.

Be blessed and Godspeed!
