Who will help groom these beautiful girls into women? (12/09/07)

Arian

Arian and Adrian are beautiful and dynamic girls. Arian, the older of the two, enjoys music and says that it is by far her favorite class in school. Both Arian and Adrian are in the first grade. Arian was previously held back in kindergarten due to behavioral issues.

Arian’s behavioral issues stem from the many emotional struggles she is facing. She currently works with a therapist on setting appropriate boundaries and recovering from past trauma that she has suffered. Arian requires constant supervision around others as she can be quite vulnerable to ill-advised suggestions. Arian will need her family’s help to set boundaries, minimize tantrums, control sexualized behaviors and work on improving poor peer relationships. Most important to Arian, however, is that she be adopted by a nice family.

Arian has few, if any, troubles getting to sleep at night, but she isn’t always easy to wake up in the morning! She sometimes wears a pull-up at night in case of accidents. Arian has a healthy appetite and she names pancakes as her favorite food. (But she doesn’t really care for hot dogs.) She has a lot of interests including playing with dolls, coloring, spending time playing outside and riding her bike. Arian also loves animals and really enjoys shopping.

Adrian

Adrian is an adorable little girl who is in the first grade like her sister. Adrian likes school – especially math class – but she says she only has a few friends among her classmates. Like her big sister, Adrian readily and easily gets ready for bed. But she, too, has trouble getting up and ready in the morning. Adrian prefers to have a night light on and she does us pull-ups when she sleeps to guard against accidents. She is currently having some tests completed to determine if she has any issues with kidney functioning.

Adrian has trouble when it comes to peer relationships. She frequently acts out at school and, as a result, the other children shy away from her. She also has trouble with temper tantrums and can be difficult to calm down once she is worked up. Adrian needs the help of a permanent family who can teach her how to play and interact appropriately with other children. Adrian, like Arian, needs a lot of supervision and can be quite vulnerable to negative influences of others. Adrian currently sees the same therapist as Arian and is building a trusting relationship with her.

Adrian and Arian need a family who have a lot of time to spend with each of them. Adrian likes to read and color. Her favorite food is noodles but she really isn’t all that fond of beans. Her favorite movie is “Shrek†and she likes to go shopping – just like her big sister.

These girls need a lot of love and guidance. They would benefit greatly from a two-parent family that is able to show them positive parent-to-parent and parent-to-child relationships. It would be best if Arian and Adrian were the youngest children in the home. They have been through some significant trauma and need both love and patience to heal and thrive. Arian and Adrian need structure and clear boundaries. They need to remain in Wisconsin. (source)
