More Blacks Lean Toward Obama
Shift in Allegiance From Clinton
Could Tighten Primaries in South
By JONATHAN KAUFMAN and VALERIE BAUERLEIN

Barack Obama’s rising poll numbers among white voters in Iowa and New Hampshire are having an unexpected ripple effect: Some black voters are switching their allegiance from Hillary Clinton and lining up behind him too. That could mean a further tightening of the Democratic presidential race, especially in southern states where blacks make up as many as half of Democratic primary voters.
The evidence of movement is most clear in South Carolina, site of the first primary where black votes figure to make a significant impact. There, four polls now show Illinois Sen. Obama with a lead among African-American voters for the Jan. 26 vote. As a result, the race in South Carolina has tightened, with some polls calling it a dead heat. A Rasmussen poll completed last week among South Carolina voters shows Mr. Obama now attracting 51% of the African-American vote, compared with 27% for Mrs. Clinton. A month ago, the candidates were tied among South Carolina black voters. Along with other polls, Rasmussen shows the two candidates essentially tied among all South Carolina voters. (more…)
The Clinton campaign’s new title should be “The gang that couldn’t shoot straight”. First, she misfires on illegal immigration. Since then, her and members of her campaign have been trying to find some dirt from his past like his past drug use. When I heard that one I knew they were reaching too deep–and apparently so did many potential voters.

You should love this quote from Obama Duane. You say this damn near every day… As soon as I heard him say it I thought about you:
But I cannot do it alone. Government cannot do it alone. We can spend billion after billion on education in this country. We can develop a program for every problem imaginable, and we can fund those programs with every last dime we have.
But there is no program and no policy that can substitute for a parent who is involved in their child’s education from day one. There is no substitute for a parent who will attend those parent/teacher conferences, make sure their children are in school on time, and help them with their homework after dinner. And I have no doubt that we will still be talking about these problems in the next century if we do not have parents who are willing to turn off the TV once in awhile, and put away the video games, and read to their child. Responsibility for our children’s education has to start at home. We have to set high standards for them, and spend time with them, and love them. We have to hold ourselves accountable.
You know a few years ago, a little girl at Earhart Elementary in Chicago was asked the secret to her academic success. She said, “I just study hard every night because I like learning. My teacher wants me to be a good student, and so does my mother. I don’t want to let them down.”

Billary is SCARED. She’s reached a new low. She’s trying to point out inconsistencies with Barack saying in the past that he didn’t want to run for president. Her campaign site references essays that he wrote in kindergarten & the 3rd grade (SMH) discussing his desire to be president to make him look like a flip-flopper. Here’s the link & scroll all the way to the bottom: http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/release/view/?id=4479

What are your criteria?.. What qualifies ANY of them? Especially Giuliani??
What doesn’t Obama have that any of the others do?

Besides the fact that he is a black male, what are the fundamental distinctions between Hillary and Obama? Nuffin.
- He knows what its like to have a father walk away.
- He was raised by a single mother until a step father came along.
- Then raised further by grandparents.
- His mother died of cancer while on sub par health care.
- He over came mistakes like drug use to go on to be president of Harvard Law Review.
- He has actually done civil rights work as an activist, lawyer, and professor.
- He has actually fought against racial profiling
- He has actually fought to make it a law in Illinois that interrogations have to be video taped so that innocent people are no longer beaten into confessing to crimes they didn’t do.
- He was smart enough not to fall for the crap that was being said about this war before it started and wasn’t afraid to say it then or now.
I could go on… Obama is a REAL black man, that overcame many of the black issues that we discuss here every day. Clinton is a fake, a phony. She will say and do whatever to hold on to power. And in the end she could care less about any issues black people care about… What the hell did Bill Clinton ever do for us besides play the damn sax on Arsenio. Hilary sure as hell won’t be any different.

Even if that were true (which it is not), who do you think will do a better job addressing the issues we discuss here daily? A REAL black man who has lived through and fought for these issues or a white woman whose major claim to fame is being first lady to a man who didn’t do anything to address black issues besides talk a good game.

Let me just say this. The last time we had a president with no foreign policy experience, looked good and had been recently elected to office we got in a never ending war, our children were left further behind, the economy took a nose dive and gas is $3.39 per gallon (Chicago yesterday). Don’t get me wrong if Obama had a few more years of a voting record under his belt some experience other than local politics (He has only been on the national scene a short time) then I would be shouting his name from the roof tops. But as of today yes Hillary is a better candidate. I like her politics.

Saudia… Comparing Obama to Bush is like comparing the formal president of Harvard Law Review to a former Yale C student, ex-cheerleader… My bad… That was the comparison,
I don’t see how traveling around as first lady qualifies as foreign policy experience. Guess how much foreign policy experience Bill C. had before he became one of the most popular presidents in the U.S. and the World… ZERO… He had less experience than Barack!… Its about judgement not experience. And Hilary has none.
Hilary is a fake, a phony. She will say and do whatever to hold on to power. And in the end she could care less about any issues black people care about… What the hell did Bill Clinton ever do for us besides play the damn sax on Arsenio. Hilary sure as hell won’t be any different.
