Obama, McCain sweep Potomac primaries (boston.com)
Nothing earth-shattering I can contribute to the voting results of yesterday’s primary. Both Obama and McCain were highly favored and won. However, I will make two comments (well, actually one comment and the other is a question) that I heard on the Rush Limbaugh show this morning while returning from our kids’ school.
1- If it boils down to a McCain vs. Obama race, McCain will get trounced. Like Limbaugh suggests, you cannot out-hustle a hustler (my words). In other words, McCain simply does not generate the same kind of enthusiasm as Obama. When it comes to the art of communication (even if he is not saying anything new), Obama has that whole department on lock-down. Plus, one of McCain’s biggest selling points is that he has worked with liberals. Well, so has Obama. And according to the article I posted yesterday from WorldNetDaily, both have also received funding from George Soros.
The only way McCain could have a chance against Obama IMO is by challenging him on ideological grounds. The only way he could do that is by becoming more conservative in his viewpoint. But because they agree on a good number of the major issues, he is left with trying to run on likability with Republicans as Obama is with Democrats. This explains all of his recent groveling to conservatives for a ‘second chance’. But according to the Virgina primary, many conservatives are not buying it based on his record.
“He inspires me!”
2 – I have heard this numerous times since the beginning of Obama’s run for the presidency. Let’s not even talk about the video clips of tears I have seen of folks listening to him speak. What I would love to know from Obama supporters out there are two things:
1 – What about Obama “inspires” you?
2 – HOW (or in what way) does Obama inspire you as a person?
If anything else, I especially want to see readers answer #2.
