Community First Fund’s Regional Impact:
777Â Loans, More than $28.3 Million in Loans Disbursed
The regional map above depicts Community First Fund’s comprehensive lending activities throughout our 13-county service area. It is comprised of data points for the 727 loans made since inception and clearly shows how many of our loans are concentrated in close proximity and in many cases indicate multiple and/or repeat borrowers. The map also illustrates our commitment to support the region’s more rural areas.
Sustaining Growth
The bar graphs to the right show Community First Fund’s Total Portfolio by Dollar Amount and Number of Loans. Our longstanding commitment to this region has resulted in the creation or retention of at least 1,650 jobs and in the creation of more than 160 new units of affordable housing.
One of the dramatic ways that neighborhoods see sustainable growth is through ownership of residential and commercial real estate. Our business lenders encouragte entrepreneurs to purchase the property where their enterprise is located when the timing for expansion is right. During the past three years our commitment to small city revitalization has resulted in financing for more than 240,000 square feet of commercial space.  Â
The pie charts below detail how our financing was disbursed in FY 2008. We work to build strong and sustainable communities by supporting businesses and organizations that proactively reduce the concentration of poverty in small cities. How is this accomplished? Increasing availability of affordable housing. Strengthening access to community services. Providing people with the ability to earn a livelihood. Supporting wealth building opportunities for under-served populations.
