Offense Prevails, And A Nice Pitching Effort

The Tigers had their hitting shoes on and took advantage of C.C Sabathia who walked 5 and did not retire a batter in the 5th inning.  Miguel Cabrera seems to have found his stroke as he went 3 for 4 including a 2 run homer in the 2nd.  Edgar Renterria’s grand slam in the 5th highlighted a 7 run inning in which the Indians threw over 40 pitches before recording the first out.

Armando Galarraga came up big in his Tiger debut.  He did not walk anyone, and the solo home run he gave up to David Dellucci in the 1st inning was the only base runner allowed until the 7th inning.   Galarraga struck out 6 before leaving with 2 out with an 11-1 lead.

As of right now things seem to be coming together.  The Tigers are now having some fun at the ballyard, and they’re giving us reasons to look forward to watching this team.
