Today, Sports Illustrated.com’s Jon Heyman ranks the 10 big off-season trades and, surprise, he ranks the Tigers-Marlins trade from December at the bottom of the heap. He grades the Tigers a D and the Marlins an Incomplete and says:

…When, on May 14, we failed to acknowledge the 57th birthday of former Tigers infielder Stan Papi.
The Tigers purchased Papi’s contract from the Phillies on May 29, 1980 and he made an immediate splash in Detroit.

…the Tigers acquired outfielder Russ Nagelson and lefty Bill Rohr from the Indians for RHP Fred Lasher.
Nagelson appeared in 28 games for the Tigers that year, his last in the bigs, and batted .188.
Rohr never appeared in a game for Detroit.
After his trade to Cleveland, Lasher went 1-7 with a 4.07 ERA in 43 appearances.
