It’s officially Fall now that October has arrived. I thought we would see more Columbus Day sales this weekend, but from the list of on-line retailers we regularly watch, only Old Navy is taking advantage of the upcoming holiday by running a special promotion — the $14.92 and under sale (clever!).

In addition to the regular sales, here are some early savings already in progress on Halloween styles:

September’s Monthly Specials continue today. New items added to the sale for both Girls and dolls. UPCOMING: I recommend saving your purchases for early November when American Girl typically offers pre-holiday Free Shipping.

Fall sale items for boys and girls are 20 – 40% off. Some remaining Summer items are marked at 50 – 70% off.

There is still good availability at the Harvest Clearance Sale this week. Save 50% and up. Save 25% on Halloween-themed tops, pajamas. and coordinating accessories. New Holiday lines just out. It’s possible to save 20% before the holiday if you can be patient and wait. TIP: The Pre-Season Outerwear Sale is over, but don’t worry if you missed out. By the time the snowy season strikes in full force in most parts of the country, all outerwear should be on sale for at least 30% off (approx. Mid-November). Believe it or not, Spring pre-season offers will be here by early January. TIP: If you love Hanna Andersson, it pays to watch the sight on Sundays and Mondays. Sales are often loaded and/or announced on-line before emails are distributed on Tuesdays. TIP: Have favorites from last season? They are possibly still available on the website, even if they don’t display. Just type in the catalog SKU’s to search.

Current catalogs have 15% off Orders of $100 or more (plus free returns). This is a pretty good no-nonsense sale — especially if you purchase well over $100 (flat rate shipping is $10). New Winter and Party wear just added. Take advantage of ongoing promotions for 10 – 15% off. Or, wait until the end of season sale in December to purchase.
