The Next Nokia Tablet?

Posted in News at 8:47 pm by Jonathan Greene

Engadget has some very interesting images…

I had been thinking the next unit would be a modified design with WiMax to support the Sprint partnership, but this looks like a redesign… much more like the MID Platform.

I guess the competition is heating up in the mobile tablet space. iPhone, Ubuntu and MID are all coming on … I know the iPhone is not really in the same class of device, but it’s impossible to keep it out of the comparison - especially for average consumer.

Personally I’m very happy with the softkeyboard, it takes away a lot of the bulk that this supposed successor will have, plus typing on a keyboard that small would be difficult, especially while holding the device! As far as input, this is like comparing a helio ocean to an iphone.

I’m torn. The iPhone keyboard is all software and easy to type on… also smaller than the N800. A keyboard could really aid though in longer typing endeavors.
