GPE has been updated substantially with a stable release. If you use or want to use a PIM suite on the Nokia Tablet this would be my recommendation. Sync remains tricky, though it’s possible… just depends on your level of technical comfort and desire.
via Maemo-Users…
The first stable release of GPE for the Maemo environment is now available.
GPE for Maemo includes the following applications: gpe-calendar, gpe-contacts,
gpe-todo, gpe-timesheet, gpe-filemanager, starling (audio player) and
gpesyncd.
The most important changes since 2.7 are:
A heavily improved gpe-calendar and related libraries Improved import/export and synchronisation support Starling - a new audio player for GPE Improved support for the Maemo platform (gpe-timesheet, gpe-filemanager,
gpe-calendar, Starling)

hey, thanks for your coverage of new apps: really appreciate it. i’d love to hear more from you (or anyone!) on the subject of sync. You say it’s possible, but tricky. I have the desire, but apparently not the technical expertise. I’ve tried urls from all the calendars i use or have used–iCal, google, 30boxes (my current fave: it works well on n800), but have not been able to get the calendar to subscribe to anything. I also don’t understand how to publish. There’s no help that I’ve found anywhere. Since you seem to know that it’s possible, it might be a great help (and a needed push for the applicationi) for you to post a step-by-step like you did for the new firmware flash process on the mac a little while ago.
It really comes down to this: I won’t use the calendar if it is a simple local store: my calendar is too important to be on one machine–I need to be able to view it (and ideally change it) from elsewhere if the n800 goes down. The bare minimum for me is to be able to publish it, so the data is off the machine and viewable in case of emergency. But I’d love to be able to do more ….
Whatcha think? -thanks!
I was able to publish and subscribe with Google Calendar… You can sync via a few tools though primarily to Evolution if you use that.
