Drupal on the Nokia N810

Posted in Applications at 10:39 am by Jonathan Greene

This just passed by in my Jaiku stream…

I’m a WordPress user, but … Drupal running locally on the N810 with Lighttpd, php, sqlite and Drupal sqlite support is super cool!

Mohammed Sameer's drupal and the N810

I’d love to have local copies of posts in wordpress on the tablet for offline composition and sync back to the cloud… I recall seeing both sqlite and Wordpress as possible downloads on the N800, but was never successful at getting things to install properly. Looks like this might not be so impossible after all.

Hi there, this is nice. I did not try yet, but is it easy to synchronize as you said?

Not sure as I don’t run Drupal (That’s not my tablet above). I would think you could use rsync to synchronize things though …

Is there any extra info / tutorial readily available for those who might want to try to set that up? And test its practicality?

Cool.I’m using n800 but it looks like it will be compatible with n810 and I guess daemons\console apps are compatible even now.So, are there compiled lighttpd version?Nginx is a cool server but I’m more familiar with lighttpd.

I am not aware of a simple path to get Drupal going yet … just that it’s possible. Hopefully after the release of the 2008 OS, there will be some how to’s written.

links from Technoratim writing than the screen can display. On the other hand, it is vastly easier to carry around than a six pound laptop…and has better battery life, usually about six hours on a charge. Also, while it’s theoretically possible toinstall Drupal on it, I’m finding that the LAMP stack sits more comfortably on the laptop. Or, rather, installs easily enough for me to figure out what’s going on. Did some ALA business on my RAZR while waiting in line for Space Mountain. Didn
