Ray Ackley Yetter

Ray Ackley Yetter passed away Sept. 29 with his family around him at the Hospice Unit with Hospice of Arizona. He was born May 2, 1921 in Hamilton, IL to Ray H. and Martha Elizabeth Ackley Yetter. He grew up and graduated in 1939 from Carthage High School in Carthage, IL.
After returning from the Air Force, he met Mary L. George in Lancaster, Missouri, where they married on March 4, 1945. He was the proud father of two daughters, Patricia Ann Heimann Heinz of Sun City, AZ and Janice Lee Skinner of Grand Ridge, IL. In 1947, they moved to Seneca, IL where he worked for the E. I. DuPont Company until December, 1983. He served on the Seneca City Council for more than 20 years, resigning from his civic duty when he retired from E. I. DuPont Company. In 1984, they moved to Glendale. AZ and later to Peoria, AZ.
He was a member of the Seneca United Methodist Church and after coming to Arizona, he became a member of the Church of Joy.
He was the proud grandfather of five wonderful grandsons, Justin Shayne Skinner Katie, Joshua Skinner, Jared Skinner Greta, Jeremiah Skinner Haidee and Josiah Skinner Sarah all of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law-John R. Skinner.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Sat. Oct. 4, 2008 at Menke’s Sun City Room, 10307 W. Coggins Dr., in Sun City with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Hospice of Arizona or Sun Health Foundation for the Banner Boswell Rehabilitation Center. A very special thanks from the family to Banner Boswell Sub-Acute Rehabilitation staff and Hospice of Arizona for providing the wonderful care and support to Ray and family. Teodoro “Ted” Lopez, 93, of Peoria, AZ passed away Sept. 27, 2008. A lifelong Arizona resident, he was born Sept. 23, 1915 in Casa Grande, AZ to Teodoro & Amelia Garcia Lopez. A loving husband, father & grandfather, Mr. Lopez was an honest and hardworking provider for his family and his wife of 59 years, Teresa; also surviving are his children Alice Holloway Frank, Stella Holloway Charles Richard Lopez Mary & Eli Dominguez Shirley; brother Salvador Lopez; sisters Helen Lopez, Carlota Topete, Amelia Valenzuela, Merced Napoleon & Eloise Lopez Olivarria; grandchildren Christina Jenkins, Justin Holloway & Erica Harris; great grandchildren Alexandria Owens, Chase Jenkins, Chelsey Jenkins and Joshua Jordan Holloway. Visitation will be 6-7 P.M. with Rosary 7:00 PM on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008 at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. Lewis U. Ledyard, 83, 10601 W. Deanne Dr, Sun City, AZ died September 23 after a long battle with cancer. Ledyard a retired pharmacist and graduate of the University of Nebraska was survived by his wife of 58 years Louise, and his son and daughter in law David and Cynthia and daughter Marti. Ledyard, an ardent Nebraska Cornhusker fan, had six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2pm Sunday, September 28th at Community Church of Joy 21000 N. 75th avenue, Glendale.

Russell Keith “Rusty” Gautier, 42, of Glendale passed away September 23, 2008. He was born Oct. 12, 1965 in Glendale, CA and has resided in Arizona for 39 years. A Journeyman Wireman for 16 years, Russell was a proud member of the IBEW Local Union #640. He is survived by his son Bryan Christopher Gautier; parents Ernest & Susie Gautier; brother Tony, and his wife, Cody Gautier; fiancée Tanja Hafner and all of his loving family. We will miss his quick wit and contagious laughter. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at Menke Funeral Home Chapel, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City with a reception to follow. Irene Guzik Nee Simek passed away peacefully in her home in Sun City on September 22, 2008. She was born on June 21, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois. She is survived by her daughter, Doreen Ainslie, son-in-law, David L. Ainslie, her grandchildren, Walter David Ruhnke and Angela Marie Ruhnke, and her great-grandson, Wesley James Zilverberg. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter F. Guzik. Irene was a very gentle, loyal, and giving person. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her. A graveside funeral ceremony will be held on Monday at 11:00a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix.
