Samuel R. Stockard

Samuel R. Stockard, Sr., 81, of Peoria, AZ passed away Feb. 27, 2010. Born in Butler, Pennsylvania, Mr. Stockard has been an Arizona resident for the past 30 years from Michigan. He was a US Air Force Veteran. A steel company and union supervisor, he retired after 33 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Sun City Union Club, Sun City Taxpayers Assn., also was active with the A.F.S.C.M.E. Union in Phoenix. Survivors include his loving friend Linda Hahn; children Donna McKneelen, Colleen Amman, Samuel Stockard, Jr., Robert Stockard, step-daughter Donna Cook and his faithfull companion “Looâ€; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, 5 step-grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren. Samuel was preceded in death by his step-daughter Cathy Huizdos. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Menke Funeral Home Chapel, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, Arizona with a reception to follow. Interment services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ.
