DAVIS – Charles (Chuck)

March 3, 1926 – January 12, 2010

Chuck passed away peacefully in Calgary, AB at the age of 83 years.

He will be sadly missed and never forgotten. Left to celebrate a life well lived, yet mourn their loss are his wife of fifty-nine years, Grace; his three sons, Greg (Joanne) of Mameo Beach, AB, Roger (Cindy) of Balzac, AB, and Barry of Mameo Beach, AB; his three daughters, Beverly Townshend (Jack) of Regina, SK, Janine Piller of St. Johns, NL, and Gloria Leland (Cliff) of Regina, SK; grandchildren, Jill (Mike), Suzy (Jason), Gabe, Clark, Genevieve, Josh, Ben, and Christopher; and great grandchildren, Alyssa, Conner, and Zade.

Born and raised near Wilcox, SK, Chuck was an accomplished and well-respected cattleman. He raised many champions and was a prominent cattle judge of all breeds. He volunteered and held many positions on boards and committees including President of the Canadian Angus Association. Chuck loved to visit about cows and share his knowledge with young and old alike. He was well known for telling his famous jokes. Chuck will be missed by his many friends in the cattle industry from Canada and around the world.

A celebration of Chuck’s life will take place at the Balzac United Church (Balzac, AB) on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. The Davis family extends a special thank you to the caring staff at the Mount Royal Care Center in Calgary.

I will remember the good times of flying Chuck and Lou Masse around to different cattle sales in Western Canada in the early 80′s. We were always welcomed by the Davis family and I will not forget it.
