Location, location, location!

March 22, 2007 by Nicki

One of my cousins was reading an earlier blog entry here and emailed me, wanting me to check out a a link to a realtor where a friend of hers works: Cary NC Real Estate. One of my mom’s sisters lives in North Carolina, and has a house in the mountains (very swank!) so I’ve been up that way a few times before. They’ve got a few nice listings, but to be honest I’ve never considered moving out and over to “one of The Carolina’s.”

I’m not saying the listings aren’t nice … but if I were to consider moving out that way, it would have to be up in the mountains. If I wanted to live in a suburb, I could do that here (and for a lot less). And on the beach is out of the freakin’ question. (Hellooooooooo! HURRICANES!!) :P

Jim says I’m too picky … I just feel like I haven’t found a place yet that feels more like home than “home” does.

How’s about the Pacific Northwest?

1. Plenty of mountains
2. Plenty of beaches with NO HURRICANES
3. Lots of outdoorsy stuff to do
4. Good tech economy
5. Good school system for the kids
6. Plenty of Duck hate to go around
7. 2006 NCAA World Series Champs Oregon State Beavers
8. Cool PNW vibe everywhere you go.
9. Did I mention the beaches?

PNW=Pacific Northwest. Any good Tide girl like you would be a Beav over here. Our coach played under Bryant, btw.

No humidity here to speak of. Just clean air and water. Oh, and Tonya Harding, but she doesn’t come out much any more.

Serious. Give it a try some time. I’ll show you and your family around. I know you’ll love it.

BTW, digging the smileys plugin. I gotta get me some.

Oregon is a nice state. I’d move there myself if they let me pump my own gas. (they are darned near militant about that!) :)

A few weeks ago, I was in Washington State, and I pulled up to a gas station to get gas. I dutifully waited for somebody to come ask me if I would like it filled. When that didn’t happen after a few minutes, I said, “D-ohh”, and went and did it myself.
