Flexible Zen Living

For those of you with a specific interest in one or more of the topics that make up the Zen Life-Flexibility Program, but wanting a more ala carte approach, we've created the Flexible Zen Living page - we've taken the videos and merged them by topic, which you can purchase individually: learn meditation, Qi Gong, Breathwork, Yoga, Zen Living, etc.

I love living in Kitchener-Waterloo (K-W). There’s pretty much everything one could want here. Well, a better art gallery would be nice…

Music is especially big here. The area has produced some pretty good Jazz and Blues people, and this gets celebrated in the summer. Last month, it was the Waterloo Jazz Festival.

This past weekend, Darbella and I spent 20 plus hours at the Kitchener Blues Festival.

Here are some shots:

Kitchener Blues

This is a big event — 12,000 plus show up for the headliners.

Friday night Shawn Kellerman rocked the house, as did special guest Lucky Peterson. You can listen to samples on both links. Amazing dudes and a terrific concert!

Saturday, among others was perennial favorite “Papa Johns Band,†but the highlight was Eric Burdon and the Animals. I’m dating myself to admit growing up listening to his music. Naturally, he did “House of the Rising Sun†to close the show. Nothing like an old rocker who can still bring it.

I remembered the video camera today, and it was a good thing. Famous Canadian rocker, and guitar genius Jeff Healey was in the house, and despite an hour of rain, the street was packed for the concert. I got you 30 seconds from his classic, “Angel Eyes.â€

What a great event! “Angel Eyes†and “House of the Rising Sun†bring back such memories of a very different time.

Hey Beth,

Nice hearing from you!

I was amusing myself at all the ‘gray hairs’ in the crowd, rocking out and singing along. I even got a couple of ‘thumbs up’ for my dancing. Interesting times, those were.

The other thing that was interesting, and I wished I’d had my camera, was a group of 19-year-olds. The guys were in ““Blues Brothers†black, one guy had a fedora, and they were so into the music. There is hope for yet another generation!
