The first weekend was a beautiful start for the Plauge 10 Festival. André Sumelius Trio turned skeptics in Telakka into jazz lovers. Ten hours DJ marathon was followed from the internet stream as well as from the bottom of the couches of Cafe Europa. Tampere became the disco capital for a day when Beatfanatic and Red Greg made Klubi‘s dancefloor sweat like never before. Big thanks for the artist and the audience, Plauge says thank you!

We are proud to present DJ Red Greg from London, UK on Saturday the 11th on February at Klubi. The biggest disco event in Tampere for over 10 years(?) is also starred by the Swedish edit maestro Ture Sjöberg aka. Beatfanatic.

DJ Red Greg began his career in the mid 80′s playing various styles eventually ending up spinning 70′s & 80′s disco in the early nineties. He is known for an enviable record collection of classic to obscure disco, boogie & modern soul. Joey Negro’s Z Records released a compilation of Red Greg’s picks called “Under The Influence” on 2011. Here’s a sampler:

Plauge never rests on its gears. Dj monster truck keeps on rolling. Today Nokia is promoting new Lumia series phones with special event, 24h DJ Marathon. Father of Plauge, Herman Prime, transported him self to Helsinki to give his contribute. Herman is on air from 19:00 till 20:00 today.

With Plauge’s upcoming anniversary in mind, I decided to put together a mixtape with some of my favourite Plauge choons from the last ten years – tracks that I’ve played more than once or twice in my Plauge -associated sets. Initially I wanted to combine numerous different genres in order to stay true to our collective’s eclectic nature, but a 100-track mixtape isn’t that feasible so I decided to stick mostly to the housier side of things… All of these are personal classics to me, and many of them should be familiar to You as well.
