The wonderful meals from Keys were very much appreciated with the 3 extra families that were staying at the house. Thanks also for allowing us to serve mom’s favorite food Pizza and red wine with out you outwardly worrying about drinking it in on the light gray carpet. Tim you performed a miracle, meeting with all the siblings listening to us ramble on and sorting through all the opinions to come up with what was really important to celebrate our Mom Elaine’s life. Everyone at the visitation mentioned what a wonderful job you did to capture mom’s beauty and spirit. You were able to give us pleasant lasting visual memory. Kelley I happened to go by the cemetery yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to see the Monument in place. Thanks so much for the great job you and Lois did on the design, and thanks for having it in place before Memorial Day. Kelley: You Tim and the staff turned a difficult time into a very proud and pleasant way to celebrate our Mom’s life

Now that some time has passed, and I can think a little more clearly I wanted to send a token of my appreciation for all that you did for my family.

When Doug passed away, I remember standing in his yard and someone came up to us asking who we wanted to come pick up Doug. It never came across our minds that we had to pick someone right then and their. My uncle told us to go with Roberts Family Funeral Home. My grandpa was also taken care of by you guys and I remember thinking at that moment – okay, yes….that will be a good place to go. So, then I was asked what the phone number was. In my state of mind, I was lucky enough to remember my own number. So I called 411 and passed the info onto the medical examiner.

After things were wrapped up at my brother’s house it was time for us to leave – or I should say the guys did not want my mom or I around when he was picked up.

When we came in the next day to plan his service and decide what we wanted done with Doug, it was a relaxing feeling coming into the Funeral Home. I remember when we did this for my dad back in 2004 and walking into another Funeral Home it just felt cold. Right then and there, I knew we made the right choice.

We were greeted by hugs and by warm and friendly faces. Although I must say, all I can think of when I see Kelly is the two cute little twin boys from our neighborhood – and they were so quiet!!! Funny how time changes people.

So, we went back and picked out items for Doug. There was no rushing, everything was explained and it was just nice to feel like we were a “part of a family” in that back room.

After everything was picked out and arrangements were made, we left feeling good about our choice.

All I can say is – you two are the most kind hearted, caring people. Not knowing people and sitting with them and hoping they trust you with their loved ones must be an exhausting job. Let alone, all the emotion’s that come with this business. I do not know how you do it and keep yourselves sane. Kuddo’s to the both of you.

After the visitation/memorial and burial were finished and we were leaving all I remember is the big hug from Tim….you give great hugs, hugs are good when you are going through such an emotional time.

The icing on the cake came when we got home to a dinner waiting for us. Turkey, green beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy!!!!! What more could we have asked for?

You truly are the kindest souls around, your families are so lucky to have you. I just wish more people in this world were as caring as the two of you.

I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to the Roberts Family Funeral Home for taking such good care of my grandma and our family at such a difficult time. My Grandma Rose Kasma of Wyoming, passed away last week, she was 90 years young. Towards the end she wasn’t looking her normal self so when my daughter Jordan looked up to me at the viewing and said, “Mom, Grandma looks so pretty,†I knew that Tim the funeral director did his job perfectly. The funeral arrangements never seemed like a business transaction, it was warm and personal. Kelly & Tim called our family members and pallbearers by their name. Every detail was thought of and it was a beautiful and peaceful goodbye. I no longer live in Forest Lake but I am proud to have roots in a town that although is growing still has people with small town values & beliefs.

Many thanks to all of those who participated in the funeral of Norm Tolzmann. We will never be able to express the true gratitude we feel for all the details which you took care of and the respect shown in so many ways. The beautiful memorial tribute was so carefully arranged. The picture screen and music was impactful and meaningful. There were personal touches in the flower arrangements given and attention throughout the visitation, funeral and cemetery interment. Tim made writing the obituary easy, the remembrance folder and bulletin were nicely done. And communications with Faith Lutheran and funeral participates were taken care of. We were please with Norm’s “natural look” and the meticulous care which Tim gave him in preparing him for the grave. Kelly was amazing in his ability to anticipate our every need throughout the course of events. We especially enjoyed our visit with him at the family farmhouse the day after the funeral. We are eternally grateful to you for making the days following Norm¹s death as good as they could be with all your caring thoughtfulness and professional attention.
