Microsoft includes FM radio as the new Zune feature

In order to further combat the Apple iPod’s monopoly on the MP3 players’ market, Microsoft is adding a nice new feature to Zune: users will be able to tag songs the listen from the FM radio and purchase them from its marketplace.

And it does not end there: Zune users will be also able to browse and buy music from the Zune Marketplace directly from the device via a Wi-Fi connection.

Another feature is called “Mixview”: each time the users listen to a song, Zune will create a map of similar titles and artist.

The storage cap will be raised from 80 GB to 120 gigabyte GB.

In term of pricing, from September 16th the 16 GB will cost $199, the 8 GB version will be placed at $149, and the 120 GB version will be sold for $249.

I hate not to have the radio feature on my iPod. :D

Nevertheless I am afraid that it is too late to fight the iPod monopoly. Sure that Apple has not the 100% of the market, but that market share that is not owned by the iPod have to be enough to all other players.
