Girls’ Room Tackle

Have I mentioned that we are moving in one week? I am trying not to stress out about this move, I mean it is only across the street, but as with every other move I hate to move junk. There are few things I dislike more than opening up a box of something I didn’t want to begin with. So for the next two weeks, minus the 3 days I will be at the homeschool convention, I will be cleaning out my house, room by room. The past few days I have been working on the garage. Unfortunately, I forgot to take the before pictures, which might have been a good thing, it was a wreck. Anyway, I did get pictures of the homeschool books that I sorted in the garage. I started with 2 Rubbermaid bins, and 3 cardboard boxes full of school stuff. I managed to get it down to just the 2 Rubbermaid bins. I threw away a ton of stuff, found some books to sell at the used curriculum sale, and found a few things to put in our Goodwill pile, which has now taken over 2/3 of the minivan.

After working for almost two days straight on the garage, (yes, it is that messy) I decided to tackle the girls’ room for a change of pace.

I know what you mean about ‘moving junk’. We moved a few years ago and my husband didn’t understand the big deal about packing. I tried to explain to him that I wasn’t just packing – I wasn’t just throwing stuff in a box and taping it up. I was at the same time going threw stuff, sorting, and throwing away junk I didnt want anymore. The last thing I wanted was a bunch of junk in my new home.

Well – now when I think about it now, I wonder what the point was. I got a house full of stuff I need to toss out, go through or donate. *sigh*

I seriously need to sort though our homeschool books again…maybe I’ll do that next week! And really…that’s a very cool toothbrush! lol!!

Great job on your tackle! And, good luck on your move. I seriously need to do some more purging in my house, I feel like. The problem is, I get that urge every so often, and I’m not sure I still have stuff to purge. LOL (Although, we did come up with a few bags for Goodwill this weekend.)

Good luck with the move.
As stressful as they are, it’s such a great purging of junk and so cathartic after it’s all said and done.
The after pictures are great!
